elias2012
Grand Theft Auto V as a whole was disappointing. 1. Only 69 missions? They could've had it like this -25 missions for each protagonist (that includes missions for 2 protagonists) and 25 missions where all protagonists work together. 2. Not enough Grove Street Families, or just Families. Speaking of which, why did they rename them just The Families? They could've kept it Grove Street Families, then just had Grove Street be Grove Street Families territory. 3. Not enough customization for single player. Clothes weren't all that great but the haircuts why couldn't we have colors like in San Andreas? And why so little haircuts? They should've had more options for haircuts and clothes! I know they have it for Online, but Online models are so ugly. I'll talk about that later. 4. No cool interiors. We were limited to small crappy interiors like crappy bars, gas stations, and a tiny police station! Why couldn't we have interiors like cafes, restaurants, clubs, etc! I wouldn't even care if those interiors weren't intractable, at least make them feel alive. 5. Graphics did not look like they were in the first and second trailer. It could've been possible for next gen and PC, but why didn't they make it look like that! I know somebody's going to be like "pc wil luuk lik tat." No, it won't. The screenshots for PC looked just like PS4 and Xbox One, with the exception of low resolution textures. 6. Speaking of the trailer, the game felt nothing like it. Not only graphics wise were they different, but the trailer had this feeling. It felt like a mix of GTA: San Andreas and IV, I loved it. Sadly, the final game barely felt like that. 7. The map, okay, the map was pretty good, it's just for some reason felt so small. I was used to the map in an instant. I can't say the same for other maps in games. Watch Dogs, GTA IV, GTA: San Andreas, I never fully got used to those maps. Maybe because I played V a lot, but man it just felt so small. 8. Pedestrians, did NOTHING but walk, smoke, and go on their phone. There was no variety, they were so lame! The only time I see people doing something different is at a construction area where they're working. I guess that was cool. 9. Storyline was so disappointing. Like I said in my first reason, not only was it short, but there weren't enough missions where you had to take orders or just do something simple. At least if I paid attention to the missions in IV and San Andreas I could understand what I was doing. In V, sometimes the protagonists do stuff you don't know about. For example, in the mission "Scouting the Port," what the hell was Trevor doing? I didn't know why I wanted to steal something, why I cared, how Trevor got those outfits, and WHEN did Trevor get those outfits? Also, I HATED how the game was based on heists. It's funny because not one heist even came close to being as good as Three Leaf Clover from IV or Breaking the Bank at Caligula's from GTA: San Andreas. Not only this, but the game was TOO EASY! I used to rage at GTA: San Andreas and IV. But not V. You could rush through it. The only challenge was getting 100%. But the reward was so elementary. Yes the side mission you get for getting 100% was good, but that was it. Beside that useless UFO in the sky. Overall, V's story wasn't all that great. At least not compared to IV or GTA: San Andreas There weren't a lot of good missions. 10. You can't buy houses or mansions? You can in Online, but you're only limited to a crap house in the hills and some lame houses in other parts of San Andreas. Those are actually kind of cool, but it's so boring because most of the people are out in the city, so your pretty much alone. 11. I guess I'm getting into Online now. I can't play Online with my Xbox One. The game is always setting me up with solo lobbies and disconnecting me from full ones! 12. Like I said before, Online models are UGLY! Their faces are hideous, and why can't I create a good looking character with a character creations system like in Saints Row or Skyrim? Many issues I have with the story can't be fixed, however if they just add more interiors and add mansions and stuff, I would play GTA Online much more. However I can't say the same for V story. Unless they make REALLY cool DLC. Edited February 14, 2015 by elias2012 American Viking, dtsmucker, MrDeSanta and 3 others

ScorpioPeter
If you actually played the game you'd know that the character customization was expanded for Online and the only thing I agree with you is the lack of interiors If you actually played the game you'd know that the character customization was expanded for Online and the only thing I agree with you is the lack of interiors. I really can't believe you're complaining that the game has "only" 69 missions J Cobra
CarlitoDorito
Biggest map in GTA history feels smaller than the smaller ones. Weird. The peds do other things, there's a thread in the V section showing that, it's worth a look if them standing looking at their phones is all you've seen. You should move on to another game, the DLC will most likely be the same thing. At least then there can be another 100000 of these threads Edited February 10, 2015 by CarlitoDorito Asphy

MrDeSanta
Well there were certainly alot of disappointments within this game but some of the things were nice. Disappointments: -the story full of gaps and things that don`t make any sense. Too fast paced story with good potentials but turned into the wrong direction. -the shortness. Only 69 main missions split on 3 protagonist. Very disappointing. You can finish the main storyline in 3 days if you play alot. -weak antagonists. Very weak, infact so weak that they don`t even seem like the enemies -side activities. HUGE disappointment. No crime activities, no car thefts, no nothing that would make a GTA game like real GTA game and not retiring/leisure simulator 2013 -the characters. It`s subjective but still...; Franklin doesn`t even belong in this game plus he`s terribly undeveloped. Trevor is over-developed in the wrong direction which equals as he`d be underdeveloped. Infact i prefer under-development over over-development in the wrong direction. Michael-he`d be OK if he would be on his own but some people find him boring so it`s subjective so i`ll leave it alone. -the main theme. Too silly and clownish, too many bad and juvenile humor and silly dialogues. This game severly lacks of seriousness. Also too many f*cking parodies on modern society (hipsters, bleeter, life invader, celeberties) -the wanted level and cops. Agressivness of the cops is one thing but unfair wanted level system and police with superhuman abilities is another thing. -the restrictions in this game based on heavy scripting and unfair wanted level system is beyond annoying -performance problems like constant frame rate drops in LS during the day, no AA and poor LOD And what are the pros? -the graphics, obviously, i wouldn`t expect anything less from a 2014 year video game (i`m talking about CG V) -the map, wildlife, ocean, weather effects, draw distance -customizations and variety of vehicles and aircrafts -mission variety which is a step forward from IV tbh -gameplay overall So taking all the pros and cons into the consideration i`d say V is a disappointment since it has flaws in the most important aspects such as the story, characters and side activities which are the main things in GTA game. zuckmeslow
the following is from my various opinions on gta v. im just going to leave it here i remember those f*ckfaces at cvg hyping up the game talking about how when they saw the preview at rockstar the map was so massive, they could not see the coast because the map was so massive and they saw people camping over by streams. assholes and the screenshots where so misleading look at how massive the mountain range looks and look at how huge and interesting and mysterious this one makes paleto look. and i remember people where talking about going shopping in the store can someone tell me where this forest is? whoa this desert looks huge realistic mud. and this picture makes the map look so much more varied than it is blur filter and depth of field enhancer yea this is what it really looks like LOOK AT HOW MASSIVE THIS MAKES THE MAP LOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! remember when people thought you could drive this? maybe an apearance from gay tony or luis? if not its ok at least we can go inside bahama mamas..... look at how realistic and non-scripted these npc's look remember cvg and everyone else hyping up customizable license plates because the trailers showed different plates? yea you have to download an app for that. what about the animal ark store. everyone thought we could customize chop and play with him. nope you need to buy an app for that. some of us love gta v. some of us hate gta v. some of us think it is ok. but no matter what you think of gta v its not a perfect game. the map sucks. it just flat out sucks. if you honestly like the map, think to yourself, if you remove all the characters and npc, and you add rico rodriguez. then it would feel like just cause 3. not a gta game.liberty city while it was too small to capture the feel of new york city and jersey city, it still felt very detailed, with narrow roads, repair crews, and reasons to go to other parts of the map. it just felt nice and i cant expain it. but you know there was something magic about liberty city.san andreas from gta san andreas, felt massive. and every city had different feel and there where reasons to make a trip from one to the other.but in gta v. the map sucks, it feels too empty and too cluttered at the same time. the city is clumped up in one corner and surrounded by mountains and empty fields. thats it. what is there to do in paleto bay? everything in paleto can be found in los santos. there is no reason to cross a boring highway to get to a boring ass town that has nothing interesting. and sandy shores is only exciting the first few times until you realize there is nothing unique about it. remember that bs about being treated differently depending where you went, they treated all three protags the same for me.los santos itself has certain nice parts but overall the downtown looks the same and is not exiting to look at or to even hang out in. the airport is a big nothing that is basically half the size of los santos. it all fells very generic and not like a gta game at all, if you told me that this was a beta map for the next sleeping dogs or just cause game i would believe it, but Grand theft auto? no way mofo sack. no interiors, no unique cities, boring desert and plains, mountains that take up disk space but dont add fun.the map in general is not good to look at while traveling from one corner to the other, its very cluttered. why so many mountains.look at the gta 4 map look at san andreas now look at gta v. everything is cluttered. there are no straight roads, no large forests, no variety. its a cluttered mess of mountains, open areas, copy and paste streets and underwater that no one cared about. what we expected what we got what we expected what we got another thing i would like to add is if you look at gta 4's liberty city and you look at san andreas, there is something on every inch of the island. nothing is left open, san andreas is packed full of variety and the fact that it has only a small amount of empty space makes it feel huge. but if you look at gta v's map. there is so much negative space. weather its from mountains or open plains. there is basically nothing. it does not feel like a gta map. every gta map was full of things exept V remember cvg and everyone else hyping up customizable license plates because the trailers showed different plates? yea you have to download an app for that.what about the animal ark store. everyone thought we could customize chop and play with him. nope you need to buy an app for that.this game has so many filler missions. missions that make me say, is this grand theft auto 5, or crane simulator 2013.the story was rushed imo and the map layout was terrible.we got barely any interiors, but its ok because we have a vast ocean bed to explore, to bad the submarine is boring a sh*t.the heists in the game where boring and not even as intense as three leaf clover in gta 4. the game was referencing heat so much that all we got was a very nice cutscene of them ramming an armored truck, but its ok because we get to shoot waves of police npc. how funthere is no suspense in a heist. the paleto heist you have the juggernaut suits that make you feel invincible, the bureau raid was heavily scripted. and the jewel store heist was boring.the game was about the "pursuit of the almighty dollar" remember when they said that. the game introduces heists but it takes place in the wrong city. the game would have made more sense taking place in las venturas. we could have gotten a freaking casino heist similar to oceans 11 which would have been more fun then a jewl store. las vegas is known for its money, why even have these three is los santos. trevor lives in the desert and has ron, a paranoide conspiracy theorist. why is ron not over in las venturas salivating about area 69. seriously trevor should have been living in the las venturas desert with ron, franklin would have been living in the las venturas ghetto with the gangs, and michael would have been living in the wealthy side of las venturas somewhere close to the stripi could see all three living in las venturas much more than i could see them living in los santos. besides the fact that michael likes movies, its not like he needs los santos. las vegas is hot, he could gamble and could have a gambling problem hence the need to go and get money, and frank and lamar seem like the type to live in vegas and party at the strip clubs and casinos. i already mentioned trevor but hes the exact type of person to be living out on a trailer park in the desert, not an abandoned town in socal. area 69 would have been a much more interesting place than fort zancudo and might have even given us reason to care about merryweather. like maybe merryweather comes from area 69 and trevor gets them pissed of while landing his plane on their runway.it would not have taken too much console resources to do a las venturas the size of los santos and a massive open desert with small towns and lots of other good stuff. how the hell are you going to pick los santos and not even have it revolve around vinewood. thats like if they do liberty city, but the game only has missions in alderny. wtf is the point.i find it funny how gta online has more missions than the main story.all this game needed was a slower paced story, everything happens so fast and i feel it was done this way so we could all just play gta online. but if the game just had more missions and more missions that actually had to do with grand theft auto instead of picking things up with a crane or doing yoga. seriously i feel like this game should have been a movie. the script and dialogue is fantastic and whitty but it doesnt work as a VIDEO GAME. there was a new character introduced after every mission, but no depth was added to that character.i felt nothing for simeon, he was in 2 missions thats itwho the hell was tanisha. wtf was the point of having her in the campaign if she shows up for 2 cutscenes and just drops off the face of the world.i didnt even know who agent sanchez was until i replayed the game.and what the hell was up with this madrazo guy, hes built up as the main antagonist and then becomes a flaccid background character that causes no more trouble for the protagonists.the side character where criminally underused. ron would have been one of the most fun characters to do missions for. ron is a paranoide conspiracy theorist who has his own freaking radio show and you mean to tell me he doesnt give out a single mission. wasted potential. he could have sent one of the protags to go look for ghosts or aliens, go explore fort zancudo or the abandoned hotel at sandy shores. he could have given out fun missions but instead, we have to walk around the map looking for spaceship parts for this hippie guy if we wanted get a space ship buggy. really? what is this legend of zelda. why do i have to walk around getting parts. i thought this was grand theft auto, the revolutionary game series.its things like that that makes the game feel empty. michael works at a movie studio and we dont even get any side missions related to it. how many times do you have to sit in a movie theater and watch meltdown to get enjoyment. movie studio + grand theft auto should equal some crazy missions. how is it that we dont have stuntman missions. a 2013 gta game still doesnt have stuntman missions? but we can sit in a movie theater and watch a boring 5 minute film. DO YOU SEE THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING WITH THIS GAME.what about snapmatic, i freaking love snapmatic, exept i cant even use snapmatic. i am one of the many people out there that have a glitch on their snapmatics that doesnt allow upload of photos and there is no patch for it. great, so now what can i do with the phone. browse the web, awesome im on the internet in a grand theft auto game.the shooting, the shooting in my opinion is terrible. every gun has tracer rounds and every shooter is a crackshot. your health depletes faster than in any splinter cell game.speaking of splinter cell how awesome is it that we can customize our weapons and try out the new "stealth feature" . now i can finally live out my gta fantasy of going ontop of a building and sniping people with a silenced sniper. oops too bad cops can now smell silenced rounds and will send out the helicopters to come deal with me.remember in gta 4 when you jumped out of a car and niko bounced off the roads. reamember in gta when you jumped out of a car and mike trev frank did that wierd slide on the road thing. We all wanted the big map we had to expect sacrifices. The sacrifices were less interiors and less mission. I wish in retrospect it had been just M and T. I love F but the writes could have made him a bad ass or something. Doesn't have to be in a gang. Rather then have him be a yes man that he was. Sure we wish V had more stuff but if you read what IV and SA and V had cut out you'll see when it comes to games with the ambition of gta, consoles are the only thing limit I g it(not a PC fan either)
PlasmaFLOW
People like to bitch about everything, but do you actually think they wouldn't have done it if they could? I mean think about it. Rockstar's business model is to always include as much content as possible in their games, specifically because they release them every 5 years (approximately, and I'm referring to main games, not including DLCs such as TBOGT/TLAD). The limitations for the first GTA V Generation were due to the consoles, obviously, sacrificing things SUCH AS interiors for a bigger map, and (in my opinion) lacking the time to properly optimize the game to include all the mission interiors in the next gen versions was another issue. I mean, come on, one thing is actually just telling the game to load the thing, but then you have to actually test it; and that's quite time consuming; everything you add can contribute to a game instability, and as such, everything must be treated carefully. I'm sure they'll do their best for the next GTA, as they usually do, and if they don't... well, that's up to us the consumers. elias2012
Biggest map in GTA history feels smaller than the smaller ones. Weird. The peds do other things, there's a thread in the V section showing that, it's worth a look if them standing looking at their phones is all you've seen. You should move on to another game, the DLC will most likely be the same thing. At least then there can be another 100000 of these threads I already moved onto Minecraft, but I can't just completely forget about GTA. I waited 5 years for this game People like to bitch about everything, but do you actually think they wouldn't have done it if they could? I mean think about it. No thanks, I'll just hope Rockstar will make some really good DLC. Look at all those interiors/enterable buildings in IV ! I blame console limitations. I wish we had just Michael, and then had a game just like in the first trailer. Koger
American Viking
It's obvious that Rockstar took many shortcuts in the story department and on character development since they were really counting on GTA online to carry the game. I guess they figured most people give GTA games a once or twice through and move on. That's not the case. The majority of real GTA fans will easily play the story mode 3-4 times, I know I played GTA IV a helluva lot more than that. I probably beat GTA IV 15-16X and that's no sh*t. I got to the point where I knew all the dialogue and could more or less beat the game only getting killed a few times if at all. This was made possible by the strong character development, deep plot, and a game unlike anything I'd ever played before. Than GTA V came along, and needless to say...it paled in comparison. Mediocre characters, restrictions, short story, restrictions, rushed story, restrictions, plot holes, giant map with nothing that really stood out...did I mention restrictions? Needless to say, after my 3rd playthrough, I just couldn't stomach it anymore. It really strained my patience and perseverance to achieve a 100% and it wasn't even worth it. Did I get weapons in my safehouse? No. Did I unlock exclusive vehicles or cheat modes? No. Instead, they blessed me with a t-shirt and only for Franklin, that said 100% on it. Well holy Christmas Batman! Being the good Samaritan I am as well as a die hard GTA fan, I decided to pick GTA V up for PS4 when it came out. Mostly because I believed all the hype like a complete tool, but also because I was just needing something to play on my PS4 and I figured it failed me on last gen, but maybe next gen would be the real deal. Yeah, same sh*t with better graphics and streets so crowded with vehicles I rarely got over 60 mph. I never got over 120 mph lol. In general, the game had so much potential to be so much more than it was. I wanted a huge desert like in the original San Andreas, equipped with ghost towns and what not but instead I got a big sandlot that was quite populated. I wanted a huge forest that I could hunt all of the advertised animals in. Instead I got someone's backyard and a hunting minigame. I give R* alot of respect for all the free DLC they've released because Lord knows another company would charge out the ass, but DLC doesn't make a game. To conclude, the game is no longer in my possession. I recently went and traded it for GTA IV and it's the best decision I've made in a long time. GTA IV would cost like 5-10$ now. V would cost at least 20$. Hopefully you got another game too, or else you got ripped off. But I dig what you're saying.
