wiizardii
To complete, to lose and not die, and for people who just think its difficult, and think the cops suck in this game... I have found a simple solution, well its not as simple as it sounds, but you gotta put your imagination to it and then it will be more fun and cool. Here is what I am trying to say: I have heard complaints about the cops, yes the are annoying, and yes they do suck sometimes. Though there is nothing you can do about it, except facing the cops and the 5 star wanted level yourself. Really, all you need is a good car, good weapons with ammo, and a hiding spot. You will need to go into deep planning like a heist, or something.. I know it may sound boring but once you get it right, it will be tons of fun. 5 star challenges are actually imo more fun than frustratng that alot of people think of it as. Here is a video provided that will show you how it goes: Now this is just my view and opinion, I hope this thread does not get taken down. bahraini_carguy, Ixnay, CarlitoDorito and 4 others
Andreas
Five star wanted levels are far from impossible to survive. I agree with those that think the police can be quite frustrating at times, especially if you play online and just want to mess around with your friends or some strangers. On the other hand, it's a challenge and it can be really fun and interesting. The other day, I caused a traffic jam when I parked my car in the middle of the road. I threw a bunch of sticky bombs at the cars and blew up about 15 of them at the same time, resulting in a four star wanted level that turned into five stars after having shot a few cops. Then, I was driving in my Entity to see if they could keep up, made roadblocks in appropriate areas and continued the shootout there. After a while I ended up stealing a jet in Fort Zancudo and causing havoc with its cannons and rocket launchers. All in all, police chases are fun if you want them to happen, that is. It is even better in GTA Online if you play with a bunch of other players, provided that they won't deliberately kill you in the process. freedom
Nice getaway! You were so close to dying when you fell after releasing your parachute!! My problem is that I honestly don't find doing that kind of stuff all that entertaining. I mean you spent most of that video climbing a ladder & gliding in a parachute. I find the A.I. is just too crude to play with on higher wanted levels. I much prefer playing against the cops on lower levels & loosing them on foot!! redpoint and Vertighost

Crimson Flam3s
Even though I hate the wanted system, I have had fun with it once or twice. I got killed, respawned in the hospital in LS center. Luckily someone was driving a zentorno and I stole it from them and put it in an alley. Then I used cars to close off the alley and use them as cover. Battled cops and helis couldn't really bother me. Finally things got heated and I left in the zentorno and managed to escape by hiding in a parking lot. Lock n' Stock
I don't mean to brag, but using the Share Play feature on the PS4 I managed to record several 5-15 minute long rampages where I slaughtered dozens of cops, sometimes even without dying or using Trevor. It is possible. You just need to have good skill, a lethal selection of weapons and move to a more isolated area when things get rocky. As you can see in the second video, the Railgun is an ideal weapon for holding off pursuing cop cars as it'll virtually annihilate anything on impact. I love it, it's like the Explosive Rifle from RDR. Edited February 10, 2015 by G.S.T Benie and CanOdope
Mr. Tibbs
I know a tried and true way of avoiding the police: Stock up on guns and ammo (Better if done in late-game) Look up a good wall breach and glitch into the building Naturally attain 5 stars Press R1 R1 O R2 > < > < > < Or press RB RB B RT > < > < > < (PC cheats TBA) Until the wanted level is gone Wall breach out and claim you did it legit. killahmatic
I've played every GTA from III to V and have seen the wanted systems slightly change every game. I've adapted to those changes. I have no problem escaping a 5 star wanted level. Its not difficult if you just plan to escape, but what I liked about past games is that you could toy with the police. It would get chaotic but you would almost always have control of the situation. You could mess with them, drive in circles, blow them up, sometimes endlessly. As they are in V, you can either find a place to hunker down and begin shooting, or just escape to the nearest freedom point, such as a tunnel. If you keep driving, you will die. To be honest, its really not about the difficulty of it. For me, its more about how fast the difficulty increases. Sometimes I want a challenge, but sometimes I just want to mess around. Homicidal Hipster
It's really fun using driving a semi truck when you have a 5 star wanted level because it's very well armoured and can smash through road Blocks easily. It's also cool driving the truck in the forest and ramming cop cars off of cliffs.
Vertighost
Even better then chases from atop the freight train, jump on the underground transit tram/train from the top platform of an underground station and ride it around reaking havoc, might get an annoying passenger from inside the tram who won't shut up but still fun. If you're in the middle of the bustin through the Hospital mission, you can hang in there causing havoc, the cops won't enter it for some reason, handy coke machine there also, good chance to make use of the interior before it closes up for good also. I love taking chances and getting five stars at Michael's house running upstairs to behind the door in his wardrobe, chances are 50/50 they will get you. I find it fun anyway, builds tension like Alien Isolation. Awesome trick...get some stars up and see how many bong hits you can take in Jimmies room, and how many cops you can get to surround you in there before you're killed. They are unable to shoot you when you're hittin' it, so you have only seconds to re-initiate the action as they all barge in and fill up Jimmies room like it's a party. This was the funniest moment I've had happen in GTA V when It first happened to me on PS3. Vespucci beach, Vehicle only wall breach was a favourite of mine on PS3, probably the best wall breach in the game as it's like a secret interior and has access to the market stalls interiors also (I haven't looked it up but I'm sure everyone knows it, I drove a few people on an online session in there, had some fun), between the bong display cases in the shop you can get constant point blank headshots at the cops/noose. then when you feel bored bust out of there at speed with your vehicle for a chase, then come back again if you want a rest...just make sure those damn boxes and shop props don't load in the way (although a bike can make it over the top of them) Edited February 10, 2015 by Vertighost Homicidal Hipster

J63M
People think 5 star wanted levels are broken? Really? I have no doubt that some individual aspects of the police are a little messed-up, with their hyper-boost they seem to get every time they pit you, or their impeccable sonar implants finding you regardless of where you hide, but as a whole they are weak as hell. Find a good building with a roof access or a long tunnel, and boosh, you can now survive the entire state of LS running at you. Or just get into a fast car, police truck, onto the train, into any aircraft, or any motorcycle, and escape with not much hassle. Plus, the police completely MELT when faced with anything larger then an Combat Pistol. Considering us players have somehow jammed an assault rifle, a minigun, a rocket launcher, and a full-auto shotgun up our asses to be crapped out at will, I don't really see how they are much of a threat.
