There's nothing challenging about triathlon. It's just a constant button smashing, it doesn't require any skills. Not even talking about the rubber-banding and the huge bug that causes the AI _always_ being a feet behind you with the biking part, even if you have gained some advantage before with the swimming (which you can do if you swin in first person mode). I remember how excited I was when I heard about triathlons in V. "Oh, maybe they'll even expand the air part to accommodate some helicopter or plane racing!" And then I found out it was an actual, real life triathlon. Yeah, V sure does take things "to the next level" and "back to the exciting, over-the-top roots". Fuzzknuckles Posted February 13, 2015 Share Posted February 13, 2015 I really enjoyed the triathlons - one of the things that added to this GTA V being very different to all of it's predecessors, which to my mind were all too samey. IV broke some of the repetition down, but was still a very similar experience to all the GTAs that came before it. V's side activities, while not as plentiful as I'd like, were a nice change to the usual things we had in earlier games. Moaning is when you never stop, keep going on and on and start bitching about the people who make the game, complaining is different. When people complain about complaints they're not saying "you're wrong! Compliment the game now!!", just "yeah we know, you say that a lot. Tell us what you think without mentioning the story and everything else you think is wrong maybe?" But the nagging and whining here is incredible, and it seems that it's always the same people doing it. There's no problem with criticism but at least keep it in a civil manner and talk for yourself, and stop the bias god damn it. OT: I like the way they implemented the triathlons. They feel much more immersive in comparison to the ones in SA and TBoGT. But the last one was a bit of a pain in the ass. However I didn't find them challenging, but that's just me. I found the races, especially street races to be more challenging, big improvement over past GTA races, and I really don't care about rubber band AI if it makes it more competitive and less forgiving. Messing with a Race Editor in IV all it needed was proper placements of checkpoints for the opponents to drive better. Messing with a Race Editor in IV all it needed was proper placements of checkpoints for the opponents to drive better. IV's racers were just bad, it has little to nothing to do with the checkpoints. Because in that case you can probably find a spelling error in every 3.rd international user`s post. And btw, i`m over 30 yrs old. OT, triathlon really isn`t challenging once you have full stamina. But you can make it challenging by starting the 3.rd triathlon with min stamina bar. But i guess it`s similar to beat the cock in SA. I also noticed that doing it in FP is alot more finger-friendly because you don`t have to tap the button, you just hold it. It's annoying really though and you get no decent reward for it. To be fair I don't know how a a triathlon could be made exciting, maybe add more variety, like a car race or something. That's without the rubberbanding issues. I can't remember how they were in tbogt tbough, but of people say they were better.. It's annoying really though and you get no decent reward for it. To be fair I don't know how a a triathlon could be made exciting, maybe add more variety, like a car race or something. That's without the rubberbanding issues. I can't remember how they were in tbogt tbough, but of people say they were better.. In TBoGT, the triathlons started with a parachute race, then a boat race, and finally a race with cars that had nitro. I think a cool way to make the running part more fun would be too add some moving obstacles and sh*t that can knock you down like in those tv shows. Same thing for bikes.
