What appeals you to "rare" vehicles?

I guess people feel special when they have something not many other people. They like the feeling of getting 50 messages a day from noobs asking about their Roosevelt. I can guarantee you that if Rockstar were to make the Roosevelt available permanently, a lot of people would get rid of it because it would no longer be rare. That's happened with a lot of vehicles such as the Buffalo S and Asea.

Me personally, if I like a car, I'm gonna keep it, rare or not. Rarity does not make it any more special than my other cars. The first duplicated car I ever received was Franklin's Buffalo early on in GTA Online. To this day, I still own the same Buffalo, despite it now being purchasable.

Re-Dragon-Cro

Trevor's Bodhi when it was only obtainable by doing a certain trick during a mission where it spawns.

And Franklin's Buffalo later on which I got duped from a friend that did SP2MP(that was about 1 or 2 updates before it was added to the online shop)

People are attracted to rare vehicles because they enjoy the feeling of driving something no one else has. They like it when people ask "How'd you get that?".

I remember taking my chrome Asea out and have people stare in awe at it back when it was rare.

I never get messages about it, except "can u dupe for me".

I kept mine because it has the best horn in the game.

Have to agree with you there. I wish I wouldn't have sold mine like a dumbass, but I needed the cash. :(

I should have kept it, but not because it's rare, because it's a badass ride, and the horn is golden!

In every GTA game I've played I always saved unique cars from missions. That carried on into GTA Online, so I try to collect some cars that may not be unique, but uncommon. I especially love my special Sentinel XS, the one that spawns in the purple-ish blue-ish colour.

Rare is subjective.

What's rare to one person might not be to another.

To be fair, a better word would be "uncommon".

Many gamers are "collectors" in one way or another. For me it's less the rare vehicles but rather competitive racers for every class. Really, I can not even sell my Sadler, because "what would I do if I stumble unwittingly into a race for utility vehicles?" :D

If I can find enough garage space to fit in one or two rare-ish vehicles that happen to coincide with my character concept or just look stylish that's good enough for me.

Others collect rare vehicles specifically, and that sounds quite fun, too. The only thing that rubs me the wrong way is when they begrudge someone the shirt on their back, as could be seen during the last couple of weeks with speculations about the Valentine's DLC returning and including the Roosevelt.

If somebody loves oldtimers he or she should by all means be able to have a Roosevelt. Being able to buy it only for a couple of days each year is limiting enough.

If the thing you have loses its value because somebody else has one, too, then we are either talking about diamond monopolies and you are DeBeers or it's of no value to you in the first place.

Because they are rare? That's how rare things work.

Except the cageless Mesa you mentioned. I have the topless version thanks to people on this forum because it is the best looking Jeep in the game.

I finally found the Nemesis the other day but honestly don't see why it's supposed to be good.

I own a Nemesis. My second one ever. Not a single soul in the world has said it is supposed to be good. It isn't. It's just rare. I own mine to go with other motorcycles I own.

InfernalOutcast

I've seen plenty of people praising it for how much better it is than the Sanchez off-road in a thread dedicated to it, which is strange because the more expensive sport bikes do a lot better.

That's because while it isn't the best, it IS better than the Sanchez. That's why I kept my first one for awhile (I dumped it before a third garage was added). Off-roading with it was a blast.

I literally spent the whole of last month proving that the Sanchez is sh*te compared to Nemesis. Nemesis is the only dirt bike you need, because it's practically a "Sanchez on street wheels" and it doesn't sound like I'm going to chainsaw a cat.

EXACTLY.

Aslo, main reason why people own the Tailgater and Schafter (when they were "rare") is because nobody likes to suck at sedan races. Oh yeah, you have 10 fully-modded Zentornos and then you got your arse smoked by a level 1 in a sedan race. Nice work.

Of course, I would get rid of my rare cars if they would become easily available. It is a lot of fun trying to get rare vehicles and it is a lot of fun, a reason for conversation, with other players when they visit my garage. Recently a +150 rank player visited me in my garage and said "Wow, Ive played hundreds of hours in this game and I never even seen some of these cars!".

I got rid of some of my rare cars when they became easily available, I still have my SP2MP Buffalo S though....its a fun car to mod and drive. Might switch it for a Felon though. Was great times when very few had it.

I wish Rockstar would make new cars available but make them really hard to get, with very rare spawns. Like the Intruder was. There is a thrill in the chase.

There is NO RARE cars in this game....

when will people realise this -.-

Great. Do you mind sharing you SP2MP glitch? Or did you just pull that out of you ass?

In the story mode of GTA V there arent many unique vehicles. You better off using a save editor to spawn the vehicles you want. Its easy and takes under a minute to do.

I just like the look of the Nemisis, I found it and one for a freind as well as meeting a random doing wheelies on one. (We stole his uninsured one because my freind accidentally put a bomb on his.)

Fun bike.

Back in the billinaire age I glitched the Hotknife. I got at least 10 friend request because of it. Which I all deleted. The Hotknife was for me only, no duping. Keep them moaning.

I saw people with the ratloader, North Yankton snow ranger, Space docker etc. It was quite fun. R* nerfed it of coarse, like they nerf innocent fun glitches all the time.

The exclusive cars like the hotknife became available to everybody. So I became an antithesis and a greedy Simeon. All my unique vehicles were ditched to make room for golden Dubsta's and blue Sandkings XL.

If 1 person finds a way to get the Do'D into MP, Does everyone report that person to Rockstar or do they let them have their fun? hehe

Considering that it's more than just a car given it's ramming and bumping power, a weapon in fact, it changes the dynamic compared to any other car.

I wonder how hard it would be for Rockstar to find out which 1 person would have the Do'D if it was possible. In a sense you'd have it, but risk eventually getting banned if you 'used it' near enough randoms. Rockstar would probably just remove it from garage but these are my thoughts.

I like the challenge of the hunt (whether a rare spawn or difficult glitch), but I won't go after something I genuinely don't like. If I'm going to get & keep a traffic-sourced car, I will to drive around camping an area to eye the plates on countless (100+) amounts of them until I can find one with a word on it or nice general combination. My Sandking's plate has HUG on it which is great. I know Charles users can replicate traffic plates but I like earning a good one.

I call BS! I don't think you ever drive these things, you only post pictures from outside LSC or your garage.....

admit it Giants, you make these things to Troll the forum and they never see the streets of LSC

GTA V had plenty of unique vehicles, I have 1 side of a garage dedicated to story mode cars

Here's Tracy's Isi, Amanda's Sentinel. Mikes "K1FFLOM" Tailgater, Franks MKII and Trevors Bodhi with Mr. Rasberry Jam., and since the pitcure was taken I added Poppy Mitchel's Pink Cognoscenti

Acquiring these cars in Sp and glitching them in to Online was a lot of fun. (especially completing the Episilon program to get the Tailgater)
