Heists killing Contact Missions?

Not if they link JP with having the ability to run heists which I thought was the case, but folks have said that is only a rumor made up by this forum.

 

At the beginning it will be because people are going to want to play the fresh new content. And they're going to try out the different roles...But we will see what the time to output ratio is on heists in the long run, then one can decide if it's a contact job killer or not.

 

If you don't get very much for the time you put in...then after the newness wears off, people will be back on that grind.

I'm a tad worried that if Heists pay out enough, people will stop doing Contact missions.

 

From my understanding the way it will work is each Heist will cost a different amount of JP. So to be able to even do a Heist, you have to do some Missions/Races/Deathmatches/etc.

I must have a billion job points by now. I wonder if you can drop out if the pay you are assigned is too low

IMO, the payouts will be similar to the equivalent max you can earn by grinding jobs for the same amount of time, I.e heists take 1hr 30mins and the rough payout will be 250k etc, this way rockstar don't lose CC sales etc,

Heist leaders have to spend a lot of money on the heist, right? Contact missions are what most people go to for money, so I think heists would actually make contact missions more relevant to people.

That's stupid long. They'll probably take as long as SP heists or longer, which is maybe half an hour or less if I remember right.

Rockstar killed contact jobs already by just doing nothing with them..,

If they would have done nothing with them I'd still be playing them,

 

R* has said there's gonna be 5 Heists, they'll get old pretty quick

I would still do contact missions, Heist can only be done with a min of 4 people, So times when you cant get 4 people together you have contact missions.

These people are wrong, and didn't play GTA:O at launch to see it on the loading screen :^:

You get money for heists only once just like Flight School.

 

Oh my god I would die laughing if that were the case, like second time play-through is $10K :D:D

 

I seem to recall someone posted some payout modifiers a while back, it was like 40-60% for repeats, IIRC. Of course that was both a while ago and subject to change by R* at any time.

 

PS I assume once HISTS are a real thing, there'll be spare resource at R* to churn out either dozens more contact missions or :panic: a mission creator.

You can be absolutely guaranteed Heists are not going to give significantly higher payouts per time spent compared to current Jobs Options. Fundamentally this would undermine R*s implied notions that Micro-transactions are ensuring "Free" Updates for GTA Online are possible.

 

Additional they are likely to have cooling down periods (consistent with SP but maybe 1 in Game Day) and quite possibly the Final Heist will be capable of being Failed.

On the contrary, R* "killed" all other regularly playable Job Options with the Content Creator and not providing filtering of User Created Content...My angst towards the lack of Contact Missions being added has long since been replaced with the frustration of $ $ $ RP RP RP.

if no cooldown they will, assuming heist take like 30min+= 500k, why play like 3-4 mission in that time span to earn 60k at most? if theres a cool down on heist ill just swap to my second character.
