Heists killing Contact Missions?

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty sure that Rockstar would limit the number of heists you an do in a day.

You don't the "Rooftop Rumble Farming Era" to be a "Heist Farm Era"

Besides, if we farmed heists, then people will flock to GTA Forums and bitch about how the game is getting boring.....again.

We need more Contact missions along with Heists. Potentially missions that lead up to the Heists, eg; stealing documents from a Gruppe Sechs convoy. Those documents being a banks layout.

I think there will be a cool-down, but can't find anything to confirm this.

Nothing in the IGN article below:

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/12/16/grand-theft-auto-5-online-heists-finally-revealed

IGN: How does a heist work exactly?

IMRAN: Each heist requires 4 players all at rank 12 or above, with one player as the designated heist leader. Leading a heist requires owning a high-end apartment so that you have a room available to set up the planning board. From there you’ll be able to launch missions as the leader, starting with the prep work and building up to the score itself.

Being a heist leader has advantages and disadvantages. On the upside, Lester contacts the leader directly when there’s news of a job and it’s up to the leader to invite players into the crew, assign positions, pick outfits and allocate each player’s cut. On the other hand, the heist leader will need to personally front the set-up costs in order to successfully pull off the heist.

R* have a new found love for cooldowns so im sure they would put a nice cooldown in place when/IF the H word ever arrive...

lsc cooldown

mechanic delivery cooldown

mugger cooldown

merryweather services cooldown

lester services cooldown

thats a sh*tload of cooldowns

There might be a cooldown as heist organizer but you'll still probably be able to drop into a heist like a playlist between missions. Obviously you payout will be smaller because you won't be paid on the other jobs that lead to the final payout.

Hists will be a glorified contact mission playlist. Not saying I'm not excited. But let's be realistic here.

It's either:

1. Limited per day. Specific amount of hour cooldown

-or-

2. Not limited but Heist is a failure factory a.k.a wasting your in-game money and time

-or-

3. Not limited, not a fail factory, but pay sh*t and will make you do extra payment for revival (if it's true to be there), etc.

Don't ever think of "OMG Heist is fun, do-able, and pays high!". That's like hoping for a rain in a drought land.

I thought it was said that you need a certain amount of job points in order to do a heist...

This.

E.g. 100 job points unlocking a heist.

When you are ready...

"Unknown network error. Go back to Grand Theft Auto V."

Contact missions are pretty killed off anyway. It;s just people doing the same mission over and over, or either just trying sabotage peoples games.

Contact missions have been the same since Online came out, died along time ago for me. IMO.

I know, right! Name one other game that requires cooldowns for special skills you earn through leveling up. Oh, wait. That's every game that has special skills.

Whooo. It's been a good 37 seconds since the last derivitave and utterly ridiculous h*ist-related thread was posted on this forum. I was getting worried for a second there...

To answer your question: Yes. They will. R* will completely sabotage their own game and make online's core money-making mechanic completely useless and/or irrelevant by releasing h*ists that pay out hundreds of thousands instantaneously upon completion, can be completed faster than the original Rooftop Rumble and can be done repeatedly, back to back with no cooldown. Contact missions' days are numbered. I'm going to miss you, Martin Madrazzo.

Very few of the free roam, no-lifers have payed much attention to jobs anyways.

...oh, now that most of the bullsh*t money glitches are being tied up, people want something that requires little effort and major $ so they can go back to being sociopaths, with no grind, 'cuz I aints gots times for dat grindin wat with my jizz-ob n my fizz-amily, n cuz im shouldn't havz to do anyting i domt whaaa-na.'

R* has been correct, the majority of GTA community is not ready and never will be...greedy, lazy, ****suckers.

Oh man, you have to be ALL THE WAY to level 12 to do heists, wow, that's so hard to accomplish...should be level 112

It's the menopause again

Why can't people just wait to see what we get instead of asking questions that nobody can answer??

I'm not that bothered about heists. Got put off even more reading that IGN article posted above. I'll stick to solo grinding contact missions..the easy ones that is.

Also, it said the leader has to buy the outfits, so I doubt heists clothes will be available in freeroam....but I don't give a crap about them. All I've wanted since online launched is a face bandana. Just a tiny little rag. Not sh*tty Halloween kiddy masks.

I think that in one of the original interviews (circa Oct 2013) they mentioned that Heist participation would be based on JP and that players would need to have a set amount on JP before a Heist would be available to them.

Conversely after a heist is completed your JP would be reset and you would need to build it back up before another heist became available.

Theres not really anything you can do to stop players from grinding but I think a system like this would work better than a set time limit or amount per day. At least people would be playing the game.

Yeah that system would actually be perfect. Considering you get 15 JP per completed job. That's atleast 7 jobs between heists.

what do you guys think will be the amount of money we will get from these heists

i'm new here :sigh:

Its been revealed that the money satchels/bags/cases can have a max of 500k inside. Possibility of more than one to grab and who knows there could be 4 or 5 to grab. Do the math.
