I think it'll come to a point like GTA IV. Everyone just stayed in free mode, Trying to find a match on that game was close to impossible.

Blame the people who make all the TDM where they hide a weapon and just spawn kill. Because of this I refuse to play unverified death matches.

 

I feel your pain though and it sucks for the people like you who make legit content. Unfortunately for GTA the old saying a few rotten apples spoiled the bunch rings true for user created content.

 

I got hurt a little bit inside when I read that, as I'm a legit content creator. Please consider checking out the content creator section of this forum and check out "TheMckeever's recommended deathmatches" it's a thread where he posts only the best deathmatches he has played. Or check out my list of deathmatches in my sig.

I can't imagine that there are very many people still playing, except us hardcore, and the continuing waves of simpletons who just shoot everything that moves in free-roam. So I would never expect to get enough people for a job, except Rooftop Rumble, which is always reliable.

Is there ANYONE out there that actually plays this game? And I mean actually plays it. Not sits around in Free Mode for an hour cracking jokes, and play Rooftop Rumble every now and then.

I enjoy the missions over DM's and LTS. Although every now and then I'll play one. I'm just not into the shoot die shoot die thing all that much. I can take about five minutes of free roam battles then I'm bored. It's also a waste of money.

People think anyone over rank 200 is a modder, which is sad. I don't even play every day and I'm almost at 500, and I didn't even start online when it started, I Started in February. Its not hard to rank up if you're good at something and you don't just stay in freemode.

Well, equal parts rant, questions, and searching for people to play with. Haha! First off, let me say that I've been a GTA fan since (like most people) GTA III came out, and have picked up every title since at launch, including GTA V. I just recently made the switch from PS3 to PS4, and as you all know, the visual improvements are pretty impressive. What's NOT so impressive is the online community. That's not to say that it was any better on the last generation, but it seems like it's getting worse and worse as the days go on.

 

Can someone explain to me why no one, and I mean NO ONE plays any jobs anymore? Anytime I attempt to host ANY job, almost no one joins. Hell, I've been trying to play my latest created Team Deathmatch for 7 days now. The closest I've gotten to the 6 player minimum was about 10 minutes ago when I had 6 players in the lobby at once for the first time in a week, only to have one of them leave and the "not enough players" message that kicks everyone from the job. I've even joined other random jobs in the hopes that I'd end up with a pool of players that wanted to do something besides driving around in Free Mode and shooting at other random players for NO reason. The last job I joined was a mission and what happens? One of the players jumps in his Zentorno and runs each and every single one of us over repeatedly until we have no lives left. It was on Hard, so that didn't take very long. Then he blows himself up, failing the mission for all of us. Is this supposed to be funny? Is this was GTA Online has become? I have actually had a lot of awesome times in this game, but apparently anything besides griefing in Free Mode is frowned upon by everyone that still plays. WTF?

 

Oh yeah, and one other nuisance that seems to happen about 2 outta 3 times I join random games. I get kicked. Why? I honestly think it's because of my level. I'm a 403 and the first thing I hear is "Look at this guy. He's one of those DNS hackers." WTF?! Definitely not. Apparently no one takes the fact that GTA Online has been up and running for FIFTEEN MONTHS now into consideration! Maybe if they spent less time dicking around in Free Mode and actually PLAYING the game, their rank wouldn't be in the crapper. To make matters worse, all my friends (meaning people that I actually know in real life) rarely play this much anymore, mostly for the reasons I just mentioned.

 

Anyways, I may be posting this in the wrong section, but basically what I'm getting down to is this. Is there ANYONE out there that actually plays this game? And I mean actually plays it. Not sits around in Free Mode for an hour cracking jokes, and play Rooftop Rumble every now and then.

 

P.S. That previously mentioned Team Deathmatch that I've been dying to try out for a week has been up with invites going out the entire time I've been typing this novel... and only TWO other people have joined. Awesome...

I came to the same conclusion.

It was the first survival I completed and I got immediately gunned down. Ever since then I quit the job vote screen, rather than voting for free roam.

I had a similar experience today

 

I was going to get in a helicopter with a level 6 because he landed next to me then he turned the helicopter to chop me up with the blades......

Lol you are sooo right. I can't lie (.__ . ) but at the same time, that's the beauty and appeal of it.

 

killing random strangers until one of you run out of bullets. Then scraping together what little money you have left after squandering most of it on ammo (and paying others players' insurance) to take your car to LS customs and play with the colors, but of course not before grabbing out of the impound.

This kills me. I used to really, really enjoy making DMs, and my best, and only real published is one sitting under the high priority case level of the underconstruction tower, but above where you can climb to. It's tight, 4v4 at most, and a single sawn off in the center is godly powerful. I get a lot of down votes after the match and a few people, I'm sure, think the gun is there for the spawn camping, but it isn't. you're going to die. a lot. but if one team, hell, even two people will cover each other, you can beat out the shotty every time

 

And I'd love to get verified, but fighting this cloud of sh*te is just depressing.

Oh, don't get me wrong, if I hear a squeaker then I'm 100% gonna identify them and make them squeal, starting with a Mugger and working up to basically spawn killing them with a glass bottle, but still it's like shooting fish in a barrel. Give me an off-duty USMC guy to go up against any day of the week
