Well, equal parts rant, questions, and searching for people to play with. Haha! First off, let me say that I've been a GTA fan since (like most people) GTA III came out, and have picked up every title since at launch, including GTA V. I just recently made the switch from PS3 to PS4, and as you all know, the visual improvements are pretty impressive. What's NOT so impressive is the online community. That's not to say that it was any better on the last generation, but it seems like it's getting worse and worse as the days go on.

Can someone explain to me why no one, and I mean NO ONE plays any jobs anymore? Anytime I attempt to host ANY job, almost no one joins. Hell, I've been trying to play my latest created Team Deathmatch for 7 days now. The closest I've gotten to the 6 player minimum was about 10 minutes ago when I had 6 players in the lobby at once for the first time in a week, only to have one of them leave and the "not enough players" message that kicks everyone from the job. I've even joined other random jobs in the hopes that I'd end up with a pool of players that wanted to do something besides driving around in Free Mode and shooting at other random players for NO reason. The last job I joined was a mission and what happens? One of the players jumps in his Zentorno and runs each and every single one of us over repeatedly until we have no lives left. It was on Hard, so that didn't take very long. Then he blows himself up, failing the mission for all of us. Is this supposed to be funny? Is this was GTA Online has become? I have actually had a lot of awesome times in this game, but apparently anything besides griefing in Free Mode is frowned upon by everyone that still plays. WTF?

Oh yeah, and one other nuisance that seems to happen about 2 outta 3 times I join random games. I get kicked. Why? I honestly think it's because of my level. I'm a 403 and the first thing I hear is "Look at this guy. He's one of those DNS hackers." WTF?! Definitely not. Apparently no one takes the fact that GTA Online has been up and running for FIFTEEN MONTHS now into consideration! Maybe if they spent less time dicking around in Free Mode and actually PLAYING the game, their rank wouldn't be in the crapper. To make matters worse, all my friends (meaning people that I actually know in real life) rarely play this much anymore, mostly for the reasons I just mentioned.

Anyways, I may be posting this in the wrong section, but basically what I'm getting down to is this. Is there ANYONE out there that actually plays this game? And I mean actually plays it. Not sits around in Free Mode for an hour cracking jokes, and play Rooftop Rumble every now and then.

P.S. That previously mentioned Team Deathmatch that I've been dying to try out for a week has been up with invites going out the entire time I've been typing this novel... and only TWO other people have joined. Awesome...

I feel your pain though and it sucks for the people like you who make legit content. Unfortunately for GTA the old saying a few rotten apples spoiled the bunch rings true for user created content.

BTW. got my main character at 300, secondary at 200-ish. We play the game, just we all have gotten bored with the lack of content atm.

It's actually nice to see that I'm not the only one that thinks this. I always feel like I'm the only person playing that's not a complete moron. I knew that couldn't be the case though. Haha!

My only hope is that Heists (is that word allowed around here) will breathe some new life into the game for a while. Right now though, it's pretty damn frustrating.

Most players still are on previous gen. 35 million versus 10 million Now Gen. I went back to PS3 because most of my friends still are. Band up with some trusted friends to play missions.

 

My PS4 experience was not so great. Graphics are better, but FR was still a great cluster fck. Spoilt kiddies everywhere. So in missions too.

By now, everyone has done everything in GTA0, until they are completely sick and bored with it. I can't imagine that there are very many people still playing, except us hardcore, and the continuing waves of simpletons who just shoot everything that moves in free-roam. So I would never expect to get enough people for a job, except Rooftop Rumble, which is always reliable.

OP has lurked long enough to know that the B&M thread is a bottomless black hole that no one ever reads. Even less people read B&M than join LTS deathmatches. OP wanted some forum members to actually read what he wrote.

If you play on auto aim (hard or soft lock doesn't matter) try switching to free aim. It has much less players, maybe around 20% of whole community but the fun factor is much higher, the player's average age is higher too. This being spoken about contact jobs. Deathmatches, capture and LTS are extremely hard to find on free aim.

 

The sad part is because this is somehow developer's fault, matchmaking is far beyond any good.

I play free aim, i rarely have trouble finding people to play contact missions with. Also free aim lobbies aren't the empty post-apocalyptic wastelands that some people try to make it out to be. They're just as full as (shivers) auto aim lobbies.

People are playing jobs, its just that the matchmaking is f*cking terrible and takes ages to find players if it does at all.

 

I would probably play all the time if I could easily join decent races with other players.

 

There will always be dicks on online games, hopefully you won't run into them every mission you host/join. I can only count a very small percentage of times someone's purposely ruined a mission I'm on.

I feel your pain, the only way to have fun now is with a decent crew. To be honest I rarely play dm because I suck so badly! I'm a contact mission kind of guy! I'll play your dm though, psn same as username.

I quit actually playing the game around the time I had done 90% of the missions 5-10 times each and realized that the payouts were much, much better pre-patch. You'll also struggle to find anyone to play with since R* added the content creator. Worst idea they ever had...I mean it's a nice idea in theory but it's in that creative dead zone. It's so open that the community churns out crap and yet at the same time too limited to play around with it and create anything really interesting. The result is a mess of 99.9% sh*tty jobs that nobody wants to play.

Didn't you hear the new rule? You have to be here for more than 4 months before you're allowed to backseat moderate.

 

Anyway, OP, my advice to you if you want people to play your creations is to head on over to the "Created Jobs" section of the GTA Online section and post in one of the main threads. Guaranteed you'll fill up a lobby and find other, like minded people to play with. Win win, right?

I wish this was true but my wife loves these Deathmatches and when she does she gets a minimum of at least 6 people joining up right away....basically everytime. When she tries to host a legit creator deathmatch she's lucky if she gets 2-3 people to join.

I'm gonna make a legit deathmatch one day and call it 9,999,999,999 RP $1000000000000000$ And see if my theory holds true....that peeps love the cheesy spawn kill Deathmatches....Sad I know

Yeah I play invite only sessions with crew on ps4.. Dropped into a free roam session recently and agree nothing but COD style gameplay and no missions, races or anything.. Some knob spent 5 minutes chasing me all over the map with me in a ruiner and he a zentorno.. Back to invite only
