Hood down on convertables PS4

This might sound like a stupid question, but how do you put the hood down on convertables on PS4?

 

I thought it was right on the D-pad, but I was in one yesterday and it wouldn't trigger (yes, I was stationary). What also confuses me, is that right on the D-pad controls the headlamps.

if you click right on the D-pad, it controls the headlamps, if you hold right on the D-pad (Yes, you have to be stationary) it controls the hood on convertibles. Some cars you have to hold it down for a few seconds, then let go, and it controls the hood.

Mmm, maybe I was in a car that I only thought was a convertable (it was one of those soft-top 50s style cars). I tried holding down, but I couldn't trigger it.
