Can't Play Gta Online ( Timed Out Locating A Session )

Well I can't go on a Gta online session with players, I can only play solo, invite and such. I can play other games online on my ps3 and this problem has only occurred recently, I mean even just 2 days ago I was playing with no problem !

 

Update - Now heists are here and a update has happened I hope my problem would of have been fixed...But nope.

I'm experiencing the same issue here. It took me three attemps to join my first lobby for today. Tried to switch lobbies because 15 players left at the same time (more like a connection issue on my or Rockstar's end) and even after the fifth attempt, I still can't join a public lobby.

I can join invite only sessions but I haven't been able to get into a public lobby for over an hour. (PS4)

Is your nat setting on moderate or strict? That's one thing Rockstar support told me that was correct.

I have good Internet connection, never had problems on the Xbox 360 playing GTA Online.

 

My Nat Type is Open on my Xbox One and experiencing the same issues.

 

Sometimes there's 20 in a session and they all left at the same time.

 

To me, this is just a Rockstar Games problem, they need to fix it.

a tip for those who join lobbies and everyone leaves, turn off ur xbox n go have a shower bad smells can put people off. hahahaha just kidding

 

when this happened to me I exit to story mode, go to the console press and hold the xbox button till the xbox completely turns off, wait for the light on the power pack to turn orange, unplug from wall, wait till the orange light on the power pack goes out. plug in and turn on using the xbox button on the console.

 

also use a Ethernet cable from router to xbox or PS3/4. disconnect all other devices that use ur router (if you can.) less traffic going through the one router.

ive used those tricks and they have worked for me. (ive also upgraded my internet but not everyone can ).

I am pretty sure theres no way to fix this aside from rockstar themselves sorting it. Theres plenty of tickets and support posts to rockstar about this problem, some from December and they still haven't fixed it. Rockstar are a dreadful company aside from the games they produce.

It's been 4 days now and it remainds unfixed. Keeps getting Timed Out.

This is why I never spend money for online gaming....ever.

This is absolute ************** crap!

(on PS3) I either get the "timed out locating session", or, if I manage to join a public online lobby (not solo/invite only) soon after, I end up getting disconnected and the message: "unknown network error bla... bla... ".

WT*?

This is what happens when a company makes way too much money in sales. Why would they then spend their new aquired fortune in trying to improve their online service and making their money giving customers happy?

There are so many so called solutions for this on the net, and all suggest changing network numbers/port forwarding/disabling-bridge gateway/ etc... etc...., or unlinkink PSN Account from Social Club. (didn't work for me).

Why the * should we go through all that crap now, and risk opening up doors for hackers, when things were fine before?

Looks like a prelude to a "Playstation Personal Information" hack.

It's a matter of: "Monkey see, monkey do". since Xbox have been filled with all kinds of problems and still are, and getting away with it.

But really, it's all OUR fault, because we can't refrain from spending OUR hard earned cash on the crap they keep producing and selling to us.

Sure they somewhat do a little tweaking here and there, but for every fix, more fixxing issues appear/develop.

But what's the point of all my typos. Just another time wasting factor in the life and times of .... "One of millions of disappointed customer, who dares to expect to have enjoyment out of a not so cheap game"!?

Samme issues here, I can t play pubblic sessions since I bought GTA for PS4, no problems with the ps3 gaming online.. I ve tryed to do everything, but nothing, no solution, this is a Rockstar problem, they have stolen my money, I can t play their bugged game...

I know I read somewhere that the Online Feature, is NOT included in the price/purchase of the game, but it's an added bonus for us, so, they really didn't steal OUR Money.

However, those of us who have paid for Online PS-Plus, have been momentarily robbed.

MOMENTARILY, because, as we type our complaints, some efforts are being made by R*, as to fix the bugs/glitches/problems tormenting Our Online Family Experience, or not?

Perhaps, the word Momentarily, should be corrected as: "Monetarily"! ?

Lets cross our (middle) fingers and hope all will be solved ASAP.

When I load online I spend 5 minutes in the clouds before being put in a session by myself (though I can invite others). If I join a friend who's in a public it says timed out

The game suspension is the main issue, I have found that if i unplug the power cord from my XB1 after i "turn it off" to make sure it shuts down completely and then when i turn it back on the next time i'm able to get online in full lobbies with no issues.

 

Also right now there is a deal going on that you can get a 12 month membership for $40

If you read the article it's saying that a 12 month of XBL will now only cost $40 instead of the $60 but yeah it actually is a good deal considering if you pay $9.99 a month you're eventually paying $120 a month for XBL or if you pay every 3 months you're paying $100 a month.
