How do I survive a cop shootout? PS4

I have tried to survive a cop shootout and it seems almost impossible. I use Trevor and his special any time I can, alone or with Micheal and Franklin but after a very short time Micheal gets spooked then Franklin gets injured. I've been trying out SUV's for protection but even in the Riot Micheal gets spooked then Franklin gets injured it was cool to see Franklin hang out the back with guns blazing. I take out helicopters but they never end. I even tried staying near a pop machine and Trevor still dies doesn't matter what weapon I use Mini gun ,grenades,sticky bombs makes no difference Characters life bar is like swiss cheese Armor don't make much of a difference either,very frustrating. It's still fun.

Never stop moving, unless you're in good cover. Take a car and keep it close, then if things get hard to can escape to it. I would use the Dukes o'death, it's heavily armoured and can smash through police cars. Longest I lasted on 5 stars was about 15 minutes. It's difficult, not impossible. You can lose them by driving really as, it's better with Franklin, driving up hills, on the train track, in the tunnels, under water. Take out the 2 helicopters quickly and you can get quite far away before the others come. They take more than 5 seconds believe it or not.

It's impossible to survive forever with stars. You need to either escape or die. Even if you find a perfect spot to hold off the cops, you'll eventually run out of ammo and will be forced to move. If you want to set records, have a plan. Stock up on ammo, armor, and have a fast and durable car (with very small windows so cops can't shoot you from behind easily). If you want to escape 5 stars, i found the best way is to hide in the subway tunnels (but that's boring). I've recently learned that you can drive very fast off of a dock into the ocean and swim deep enough so the cops lose sight of you, then, open your quick inventory and eat snacks to stay alive once you run out of breath. I've escaped 5 stars online several times using this method.

Surviving a Shootout?? I don't think so. Los Santos Finest have the infamous reputation of being super cops. Laser sight vision, Dead accurate shooting, Experience in tactical driving. etc.. I doubt you will ever "win" a shootout against them.

The main problem are those pricks hanging from NOOSE vans with their navy marksman skills. Whenever they drive near you press the button to duck in the car. It doesn`t always help but it saved me many times from being headshot by them. It`s particularly annoying when you`re in low suspension vehicle.

And never let those guys squezze you in the corner because they will kill you instantly.

 

Come to think why there aren`t any customizations options for BP windows in this game?

 

But at the end of the day you`ll probably realize the cops in V aren`t such a challenge at all, they`re more of annoyance. With the right techniques you can easily survive long time and kill a lot of them. When i started playing V i kept dying, the cops seemed so hard to me but after 1 year of playing they aren`t any challenge for me any more. Just an annoyance that ruins the fun that`s all.

Turn on the hud and radar and watch where police are heading, wait for stars to start flashing, don't be tempted to flee if cops are near when stars are flashing as they are dumb and if you are hidden well they will probably not walk where you are, behind a bin undercover in an alley for example.

Are you trying to tell me i can actually hide behind a dumbster and cops wont come into my direction? It doesn`t work ok, i`ve tried it many times when i was way out of their line of sight and they still somehow knew where i was.

 

I will never understand why people are keep saying this when they know it doesn`t work. Cops in V are psychics and they will always know where you are so the hiding isn`t an option.

Shoot the tyres and the head.

 

Ram the road blocks.

 

Sticky bombs.

 

Call Trevor, Micheal or Franklin.

 

Concentrate on driving and let your buddy do the shooting.

 

Jump out/ ditch the car.

 

Your buddy dies.

 

Die.

 

Repeat.

Taking down the helicopter is easy enough, shoot the pilot or use one of the heavy weapons. If you drive up a hill the helicopter will be quite close so you can get a sticky bomb on it, or you can do a die hard 4 if you get the timing right and hit one out the air in a car. Really hard to do, they have to be in the right place, the jump has to be big enough.

 

On foot police are easy enough, take cover whenever you can, combat roll, have max ammo, armour and full health to start. If you want it to be really hard use free aim, auto aim makes it quite easy. Never try getting too close to them, don't try sniping in an open gun fight, you can't see everything going on. if there's a lot of police, use the grenade launcher or RPG, maybe a grenade or sticky bomb. A Molotov can take out a few quickly.

 

It would be an achievement to get from the airport to Paleto bay on 5 stars, no helicopters or planes allowed, cars are, but they will be shot to sh*t

The only way to survive a shootout is to escape before it gets to that point where cops are spawning faster than you can kill them. If you hide inside buildings, you occasionally get a small window of opportunity to get outside and in a vehicle and escape with only one or two officers in your way, but its so short or a window that its nearly impossible to get the timing right.

You can definitely hide from the cops in V once you break line of sight from them, I've hidden behind walls, dumpsters, backyards etc..

I've had plenty run right past where I was hiding while searching for me, had the wanted level go away, and the cops return to non-arrest mode and then strode out right past them saying hello as I do.

The same way you do it in real life. Make sure you're loaded up on ammo, wearing body armor, and don't get shot! It doesn't take long to die in GTA V if you're not in cover or moving like others have said.

 

I usually only do big shootouts in fully fleshed out interior spaces, because even when you're down, you still get a chance to switch things up, especially if you know where all the entry and exit points are. If you're out in the open, you're usually dead

 

It's about preparation. It's also good to have a fast, armored up vehicle stashed somewhere close if possible. My favorite spot is Franklin's house, but I use Trevor, because his special is my favorite for shootouts. Michael's is good too, but I can't use him because I try to go "Max Payne" on the cops. Michael isn't Max. And my simple for tip for using Trevor's ability is...only use it for NOOSE.

Sorry for not giving any advice, but its not that hard really.... I mean load up all of them, on armour, weapon, etc... And then just do the damn shootout, its not too hard.

I like to use semi trucks it can easily smash through road blocks and actually has a pretty fast speed. its fun smashing into those noose SUVs and watching the guys hanging off the side getting crushed and it can also take a lot of damage the another day when I was doing this I must of gone around the entire state of San Andreas before the truck started to smoke luckily I was near Trevor's air field so I ditched the truck and made my escape by helicopter

Trevor, invicibility cheat and just simply activate his special ability when the timer runs out and re-enter the cheat. Rinse and repeat and you have cop graveyard.

 

PS: I don't care about stupid meaningless trophies/achievements and what not. I don't play V Rockstar's way, I play it MY way as I see fit!

It's not Bullsh*t. Read my post properly I didn't simply say Hide behind a dumpster.

 

I didn't say cops won't walk in you direction I said "If you are hidden well they probably won't walk where you are" Cops WILL search your surroundings, If you choose the right dumpster with the right surroundings, such as a behind a dumpster in an alley against a wall/walls, they should walk near you but not far enough to turn and see you...not a hundred percent of the time but most the time. If you shoot at them they will mos' def' find you, If they x ray you through the bin run away and find another bin/wall/container/box/car or alternate method.

 

An example is the Dumpster in the alcove behind Franks LSC you have to jump into the very small gap, the small rooms upstairs inside the abandoned Motel in Sandy Shores stand pressed to the wall. Cops will walk by the room they may walk in, but chances are very slim. Tattoo shop in Sandy Shores behind the counter tucked in the corner where the cash register is, Cops will be everywhere outside the window, walk in walk out and not see you.

 

taking them on in the open is hard, Easy way is travelling on the train or ontop of the underground trams.

 

Hiding is easiest option.

It`s nice to have more brutal and challenging cops, it`s a good change from IV`s lazy pigs but Rockstar was overreacting and overpowered the cops very unrealistic.They did it on purpouse because some people complained about IV`s incompetent cops.

 

Just look at the 2 things;

1.)they didn`t want to inculde an option of BP car windows in LSC. They did it on purpouse so the cops can still shoot us through the windows.

2.)the ramming. Just look at how fast can you kill an NPC with car to car crash. The slightest bump with your car to their car and they`ll die. Can you do this with cops? No way. I`ve tried today. I modded my Duke O death to the max. Then i went on huge rampage. I`ve crashed at max speed on the highway directly head onto the cops`s car (the regular police cruiser) with my Duke. The impact was so strong it would blow the truck up but the cop in the car didn`t even get a scratch.

 

Makes any sense? No, cops in V are robots and R* made them on purpouse like this. It would be OK if they wouldn`t be so unrealistically overpowerd and superhuman. I can do a PIT maneuer on any NPC`s car, i can kill any NPC driver with the slightest head on collision but i can`t kill a cop in his car while crashing him at 120 mph with modded Duke o death?

 

Come on Rockstar, this is f*cking bullsh*t.

If you wanna commit some crime without the police, use chops ball, you can smash car windows with it without getting a wanted level, so you can do petty vandalism

 

The wind farm is a good place to be if you have helicopters after you, the turbines destroy them.

 

On top of a multi-storey car park/parking lot is a good place for a shootout, if you park a car in a corner, you have cover, on foot police take a while to get to you and they're far enough away to miss you. Your only real threat would be helicopters, but they're easy enough to take down. On a couple of them the police won't come up to the top, so you just have helicopters. You can snipe police on the ground too.

 

In the bigger ammunation, throw a couple of molotovs at the door, it sets fire to it and the police do the IV thing, running right through it. You can shoot the rest.
