i used to not slam my banshee, but then i realized what it can do slammed. most every car can have certain aspects of its drifting enhanced by slamming. sometimes its not a desireable effect. for example, the schwartzer slammed produces longer drifts and keeping them going easier, but you accelerate so much slower it really takes the fun out of it. the banshee and the ruiner dont lose much acceleration when slammed. i dont think slamming the futo helps unless you really want super ez long drifts. i like it better unslammed, though the drifts dont last as long. but as long as YOU can keep them going with downshifts you should be okay.

If we ever get a fourth garage I'll likely get a specialised drift Banshee but as it is all my cars have bulletproof wheels, so no slamming for me for the time being. I can still drift my Banshee, although not especially impressively to be honest, as you say the Futo is fine without being slammed so that's what I usually use.

oof sorry man, i just dealt with that. i used charles to take all the bp tires off my cars, so it wasnt a complete waste of money. i would definitely look into taking all your armor off, go to stock brakes, sport suspension (not comp), full engine/transmission/turbo upgrades, and no spoiler. ive felt a solid difference.

Because theres no way that you NEED that many cars for free roam. Like I really dont think it would kill you to have just ONE car with non bulletproofs. Like do you really needto take a futo into a freeroam battle? I mean just go into passive if you want while your drifting. I just find it silly that you said that you need all your cars to have bp tires.

Nothing silly about it mate. I've been playing GTAO regularly since October 2013 and I've been drifting for about a month, which is nothing. They all had BP wheels long before I was interested in drifting. I wouldn't pick a Futo for a free roam battle but neither am I afraid to drive it in public or use it in missions. Same for all 30 of my cars.

Whatever you say man. You just won't be able to drift properly at all. Your stubbornness to just have one car out of 30 without bp tyres is really holding you back. You came in to this thread and posted a lot clearly interested in Learning to drift etc, yet youre completely unwilling to just have ONE single car have the thing that makes drifting a hundred times better. Oh well though. Some people dont want help I guess.

Btw, most of my cars are BP-less yet im in free mode battles all the time and rarely do my tires pop so I really see no excuse other than youre trying to justify putting bp tyres on all of your cars for no reason.

It's ridiculous that you think I'm making excuses or justifying myself. I'm just stating the fact that I don't have space for a drift car. If I could take the BP wheels off my Banshee I would but I can't.

Is there a reason why it's best to get a sports suspension and slam it, rather than a competition suspension and slam it less?

If you put the competition suspension on a Voltic and slam it, would it bottom out?

Emagdnim offerred to unbulletproof any car he wanted but still claims he "need them all for free roam and missions". I know the fighting is stupid and pointless but come on, hes in a thread about drifting yet hes not willing to make a single one of his 30 cars driftable. He doesnt even need to sell anything and lose money by rebuying it. I dont understand it at all lol

Give it a rest will you. Nobody offered me anything he was just giving advice on a good drift setup. I don't 'need' all my cars for free roam, you would only 'need' one super for that but I do 'want' to be able to use them all in any given situation.

 

What's it to you anyway? Nothing. I'll look after my cars and you look after yours.

i get both sides.

 

king really wants to give Nacho the best possible options for him to be able to drift well. . this involves having your cars be slammable.(i know he said drift properly, but you can still drift 'properly' unslammed in a very limited number of cars)

 

nacho is defending his OG ness and how back in the day we all thought we needed bp tires for everything. i remember that first month or two of play where all ppl did was shoot out your tires and laugh at you bc you couldnt afford bp tires.

 

however, king, youre trying to enforce your style a bit much. granted, a person that DOESNT slam their cars will NEVER be able to drift as well as someone who knows what their doing with their cars slammed... BUT, you can just accept that fact and say 'pfft, get on my level'

 

also nacho, wtf man...? even if you didnt know how to use charles, all you have to do is sell your car, get $ for all the upgrades you originally put on it (which i can assume is everything), then re-buy the car you want to be slammable, and put the recommended drift upgrades on (which dont cost NEARLY as much as fully modding a car). youll probably come out even. but in the name of drifting you wouldnt consider sacrificing a few $.

 

thats why you both are mad. i dont mean to enforce my thoughts, but if i were to, id say chill out king, let him be worse if he wants to. and nacho, suck it up and get a slammable car.

^ If you're all about the drifting then yes BP wheels must seem fairly irrelevant. But if you're all about free roam and missions, and drifting is an occasional side interest then BP wheels are more important and my non slammed Futo works just fine for me. Maybe I'm actually quite good at drifting and I can make it work in a non slammed car.

 

I've already made this point several times but I'm well aware that I could sell my Banshee and buy another but I don't want to. I will buy another some day so I can do longer drifts. I hope that's ok with everyone.

 

By the way, that was one hell of a patronising post there from yourself. I've been playing since 2013 and I'm rank 350 something, I'm not some noob who doesn't know what they're doing.

Not you again...I know it's hard for you to understand but I was defending myself in the sense that I was having to explain repeatedly why all my cars have BP wheels, in the face of your increasingly obnoxious comments.

agreed. as i said earlier were all interested in the same thing, theres no point in alienating ourselves even further. we should be working together.

 

im currently practicing on a track i made, i hope to have a showcase video come out in the next week or so. its a remake of ken blocks gymkhana 7, so i gotta get it right, but im excited to show it off. wish i could get better camera angles in a race.

Hi guys, cool thread, read every page last night.

 

I'm not really a 'drifter' per se, I'm more into my track/street racing but do enjoy a break from that every now and again to enjoy some sideways fun!

Unfortunately I will never be able to reach my drifting potential because all my cars are fully modded/BP tyres. Have used friends cars slammed and it is way easier to keep it going. Might transfer my low level character from ps3 and start building up some drift car garages.

 

Would someone mind posting some links to the practice tracks (the tutorial one?) and some proper drifting tracks?? I keep getting job not found. I'm PS4 and I made sure it was selected to that but still no luck.

 

But yeah cool thread will be popping back on a regular basis.
