The Drifting Corner

Recommended Posts

I mean we really don't need to argue semantics anymore. So long as you can force downshift to keep the momentum up.

I agree, while it's not exactly the same, neither is it different enough to warrant correcting people who call powersliding drifting. There would be no need to start a separate powersliding thread for example.

Lol I wasnt trying to nitpick. But saying the sultan can drift is just plain wrong. Its not semantics, its just fact. If you think that the difference between powersliding and drifting is semantics, then im quite certain you arent drifting correctly lol.

To the unaware, yes drifting and powersliding are similar. Especially in this game where real drifting is very tricky. I can understand how an inexperienced person might think sliding round corners in a sultan might be drifting, but to someone who spent hours perfecting the real techniques, theres a massive difference. Night and day. The sultan is nigh impossible to properly drift in so I was just trying to tell him that what he thinks is drifting is most likely not. Im guessing he would wanna know so he can learn the real way. Just saying

For all you know he's drifting like a boss in his Sultan, I bet if you were to slam it and drive it on dirt you could drift it. And if he is powersliding it who cares? I'd still like to see a video of someone pulling off huge slides in a Sultan.

Sure but if its an all wheel drive, traction monster, chances are, its not working drift wise for anybody.

Probably not, that's the only thing I don't like about it, too grippy for my liking. All three of my garages are pretty much filled with RWD, hopefully the Kuruma (if that's the right name) from the heist trailer will be available to buy and will be more slidey.

Is Anyone in the UK?

I am, looks like Nacho Z is as well judging by the flag!

I was playing around on GTAWiseGuy's drift practice track yesterday with the Futo/Schwarzer/Banshee/Ruiner trying to get the hang of it all. Not sure which I prefer, the Futo or the Schwarzer at the moment!

I'm giving my new 'babies' a try to see if they are any good at drifting.

Also my first time taking pictures with the 'leave the car running while you're not in it' trick.

hey syn, if you want also, you can leave your front wheels turned by turning the wheel, using the interactive menu to kill yourself. walk back over and the wheels should be turned still.

lol @ you guys, car on either side.

to keep radio/neon/engine going, simply get out of your running car, shoot the ground right next to you a few times, get back in, start car up, get back out, voila, car running.

to turn wheels, use interactive menu to kill self while turning wheels in car and come back

to remove hood/trunk/bumpers:

he has a few other tips too, like how to remove the bullet holes everyone else sees on your slammed car and more:

remove bumpers on ruiner to make drift missle:

Does anyone drift cars without slamming them first? Or is it just me that doesn't like having to f**k about every time they go for a drive.

Very few cars drift without being slammed for me, one being the coquette classic (drifts good with trans upgrades too). It seems to drift better without being caught in the high-rev thing that most cars drift best in...
