The Drifting Corner

Recommended Posts

Togue, id like to see you drift as well as the guy in the video above. I can drift the ruiner satisfactorily enough, but not like that video. Lets see a vid togue. Very interested to see you back those claims up. (No antagonising btw)

Lets all meet up if hes on PS4.

New shot game, take one everytime he says "guys"..

Btw, the video pretty good, but just a tip.. Don't shoot the wheels like that, shoot em with a sort of burst, so three bullets (or something like that) at a time to prevent some cars blowing up. Lower armor will make the car lower quicker.

But most "GTA drifters" already know this, because they have been desperately trying to drift since day one, which is basically impossible in this game. The Schwartzer slides as good as it gets, when lowered twice in the back, once in the front (in my opinion) the rest is just alot of oversteering and sliding the car while hoping the car doesn't shift up, because then you'll suddenly have all the grip in the world.

Hopefull they'll bring out a drift pack or something at some point. It's not that hard to do, I've seen a sh*t load of mods making it possible and as easy as in IV with different handling lines.

Here's my effort at a drift video, I'm far from an expert drifter, I'm more of a BMX and motorbike stunter but I wanted to have a crack at it and make a contribution to the thread. If nothing else I enjoyed making the video!

I should add that none of the cars are slammed, I need the bulletproof tyres too much as they all get used on missions and in free roam.

GTA 4 was so good to drift, but do not expect them to change the driving mechanics on GTA 5, even on the XB1 and PS4 versions, just wait for GTA 6 and hope for the best :)

great vids! should definitely help me improved my noob drifting skills.. but still got a loooong looong way to go just glad that i found this corner to get some pointers. anyone on ps3 that does drift sessions? wouldnt mind seeig some pros in action to try and pick up more pointers

eh, since im ps4 i got pretty jealous of gtawiseguy's drift practice track.

so, i finally gave in and made my first track with the creator. It's no where near as good as his but its fun and has plenty of places to practice different types of drifts.

the link for the job is in the description for the video.

its funny that the thread is dead, but i am enjoying the best drifting in my 16 months of playing this game. custom practice gymkhanas, recreations of ken blocks gymkhana 7, custom community tracks that are actually decent, and a crew to drift with. you guys dont know what youre missing. if you do, and you dont want to miss any more of it, hit us up to join us in drift.

stay sideways

A thread is only dead if you let it die.

We all have jobs/school/lives, things that keep us from visiting here regulary.
I joined up with Sideways, but I'm more active in another crew, add me as a friend and we'll drift sometime.

PSN: NinJa_SideSwipe

okay, i wasnt intending on having pointless posts... i more was just hoping for more discussion. post some videos of you guys drifting, some new tracks you may practice on or like for other reasons, or some questions. syno, ill add you for sure man. hopefully ill see you on sometime. weve got global members from usa to new zealand so im sure you may find someone online.

tis true that it is hard to find other people. but even harder if you arent actively looking. i understand youre on xbox, so i cant help you there. but you have a bigger community of drifters on xbox than ps4. look up RWD media on youtube and 6star street racers (GTAWiseGuy's crew). they host meets every sunday i believe, if not more often.

i think maybe we could compile a list of great drift tracks that we all use here. we can have a few categories too if you want. i was thinking:

1. mountain touges (did i do it right spirit leader?)

2. precision drift races

3. mountain practice courses (i have races set up with 1 checkpoint at top of hill, 1 at bottom for finish, basically you go thru top to bottom and if you are unsatisfied, hold triangle and restart up top)

4. flat/parking lot practice courses (like GTAWiseGuy's most recent track, basically a drift feature playground that you decide to finish whenever youre done messing around)

5. gymkhana races (a little bit of both, you have a longer track, with features thrown into the track that you can practice on. TIP: for these, leave a cool feature right before the finish line for everyone to mess around on while waiting for the rest of the crew to get toward the finish line, so that no one gets a DNF)

now im sure you have, like i do, a plethora of tracks, some good, most bad.

so maybe we can compile a list of our favorites in this manner. anyone down?

What cars does everybody like to use? I recently discovered that a maxed out adder with all 4 wheels popped drifts like hell! :D

It's funny you should say that, I was doing a bit of drifting in my Adder earlier, not slammed though. I think there's potential there, you need to work the handbrake a lot though because of the sheer power of the thing.

The Futo is the best drift car for my money, Banshee's also a popular choice. Most muscle cars like the Phoenix have their charms too.

I also like my Warrener, Coquette, and Coquette Classic for drifting.

OWNED drift cars (in order of favorite to least): banshee, ruiner, futo, schwarzer, warrener, massacro, dukes

i own more muscle cars that can drift like the vigero and the slamvan and the picador, but those listed above are what i actually practice drifting with.
