The Drifting Corner

it depends though. sometimes i dont like to slam, and its not necessary, but it definitely extends the length of your drift. but you accelerate slower (with most cars).

i dont slam my banshee. i dont have to slam my ruiner, etc.

this is old and i know he plans on making a new one, but this youtuber has the most comprehensive tutorials on drifting, imo. try out his techniques and make sure you watch his video about 'mid drive speed boost'/clutch kick/downshifting

Ahh!

To drift and not know Tsuchiya is to...

Be a chef and not know Emeril

Be a politician and not know George Washington

Be a Jedi and not know Yoda.

It is necessary background knowledge.

The only Japanese person I can name is Kamui Kobayashi. Does that count? :D

Well according to Touge Spirit Leader, if you don't know Tsuchiya's life history then you have no place talking about drifting or posting in this thread, so if you can close the door on the way out.

I'm joking, mans a fool.

No Nacho, you are the fool for digging up an old hatchet.

Robaldinio, you impress me with your F1 knowledge, unfortunately that realm of racing has become to regulated for my taste but nevertheless it's good to see another racing fan of some sort.

It was only two days ago, not like I've been holding a grudge for fifteen years is it. If someone such as yourself posts a load of self important nonsense then I will call them on it as I see fit.

Aye true enough, I'll keep my personal opinions to myself and won't derail the thread anymore.

Thank you. ;)

Not for your benefit though. You're still a douche.

im gonna follow his advice on the ruiner specs and make one like that. no spoiler, no armor, base brakes, 1 click up suspension or something (whatever he says in the ruiner build video), etc... ill report back and let you know if i feel a difference.

It'd be really hard to tell but I'd be interested to know if you find that armour makes any difference, I've always thought it's a myth that it adds weight and therefore affects handling. Then again I didn't think that different tyre types altered anything and it appears that in fact they do.

Rwd media says taking off armor makes a dramatic difference on all drift cars

It might be an educated opinion but it's still just an opinion. I don't think there's any actual evidence that armour affects handling on any car. I'd like to know for sure though.
