mind telling me what good handling setting are for drifting paddiwak?

Right so this post might be a bit long but I like to be very precise about what I'm explaining ^^...

Here's a link to Mohanad's tool which I highly recommend.

(Damage, explosion and weapon tab still work too, although for weapons you can't have an active modded DLC.edat with weapon modifications while using it. The two interfere with each other and Mohanad's tool no longer works. The rest works perfectly even if you have the script bypass with a modded update.rpf or anything else)

Also specifically for the weapons tab, you need to search for the offsets in single player when starting up gta before going online or else it won't find them. The others work fine.

Here's my Sultan's setup in the order it appears on the handling tab on Mohanad's tool:

Mass: 100000 (helps to push any cars out of the way and avoid them ruining your drift line ^^)

vecInertiaMultiplier: 1,1,1

InitialDriveForce: 2

BrakeForce: 5

AntiRollBarForce: 2

HandBrakeForce: 5

TractionCurveMax: 2

TractionCurveMin: 2

(These are the important ones, make the traction 5 on any given car and it will stick to the road like a formula one.

Make it 1 and it's like you're driving on ice.

2 is the number with which I've had the best results on the Sultan)

CamberStiffness: 2

SuspensionForce: 3

SuspensionRaise: -0,05

(This is the height of the car, -0,05 makes it slammed but without the rims sticking out of the arches, so it stays pretty ^^)

CollisionDamageMult: 0

(All other damage multipliers you can set them to zero too. Your car will be invincible except for enemy explosives. But that can be easily solved if you're using mod menus or I suppose also on LTS with the car invincibility option.

MaxFlatVelocity: 125

(Note that you can go up to 200 on any car with this, after that point the top speed doesn't really change it remains 540 km/h or 335 mp/h if I remember correctly.

For drifting I like to keep it at 100 or 125, and that's already bonkers fast.

After 150+ the game doesn't render normally anymore at top speed so it's kind of pointless and less enjoyable)

Once again this was for the sultan, the rwd cars are much harder to control but if you're good there's alot of fun to be had.

For those I'd recommend keeping the traction above 2,5, the InitialDriveForce never above 1 and the Velocity at 100 tops.

You can keep the rest of the settings exactly how they are for the Sultan.

Except for SuspensionRaise which can can have higher or lower values depending on the base height of the car, ie supersports cars that are already low compared to suv's etc.

So there you go :).

Once again sorry for the long post but I never half ass what I'm doing and I'm more than happy when someone asks me to share my setup ;).

Have fun m8

Edit:

To get the handling settings to stick fully on a car just change sessions.

You can also move far away then request personal vehicle but some modifications don't stick most of the time, so changing session is best.

As you probably know the handling mods will then stick until you reboot gta :).

I just need to flash my console but imma get some sort of drift mod once I can... Pretty soon though I'm gonna try to start a petition to R* to get them to add an option of drift tires... It would be equipped like bulletproof tires, and once equipped it would have a touched-up version of the physics in the slidey-cars cheat in story. Once created I will post a link here and a few other places.

Like I said it's not great...the start the comet isn't slammed, when I stop and pull out the gun and it cuts to night the car is slammed (went through 3-4 cars trying to slam) looking back at it slamming did make a big difference. The end is me bumbling my way round the practice track. I'm sure someone more skilled could pull some decent drifts in it.

Nice, it certainly looks like the Comet is going to be a more than capable drifter, you could see the potential in that precision drift around the 4:30 mark. And then a bit after that there was a big drift which nearly turned into a monster one.

Cheers, I'm just gonna keep practicing in a loads of different cars.I took the BP tyres off all the cars I wanted to drift with. The schwartzer was really good slammed, was quite slow but the drifts were easier to control and keep going into the next turn/drift. I brought the Banshee too. One of my favourites is the Ruiner and best thing you can just grab one of the street and do it up cheap. Want to try some more created drift tracks.

I'm gone for a weekend and when I come back I see 50 new replies to this topic.
Glad to see the spark is still here.

And indeed keep posting videos of your own drifting, very welcome in this thread.
I'm seriously into Dying Light right now, so no drift videos of me for the foreseeable future :p

thanks for your reply, but i tried them setting on a sultan (using LTS) and it dosent drift at all, the handling does change though, so it does work, also the suspension raise amount didnt work and the wheels fell through the ground lol, but ill keep playing with it

thanks for your reply, but i tried them setting on a sultan (using LTS) and it dosent drift at all, the handling does change though, so it does work, also the suspension raise amount didnt work and the wheels fell through the ground lol, but ill keep playing with itBe sure to use commas instead of full stops on the values I gave you. That might be the issue for the suspension raise.

It has to be "-0,05000"... But if you put a full stop so "-0.05000" the game will recognise it as -5000 if you see what I mean?

Also this setup is specific for Mohanad's tool, from one tool to another the values might work differently. I had the same issue modding a handling line on a DLC.edat for example, as i was used to using Mohanad's tool and on a DLC.edat the settings work slightly differently...

You should use Mohanad's tool though, the settings should work fine on it. It's a bit old now but it's free and probably the best free rtm tool I've ever used...

Like I said it works with ccapi 2.50, so if you're on 2.60 it won't work but you can also use it with tmapi...

You can add me if you want I can show how my Sultan drifts tonight if you're up for it?

nice man, you may just want to "twerk the wheel" more. basically moving your left stick back and forth rapidly to extend the life of your drift. lol and make sure you turn traffic on then back off before doing the parking lot track, itll take those cars off of the lot for you haha.

as for that modded video above.... man i can drift better than that with the stock handling file. but could you imagine what an experienced 'stock' drifter can do with that mod file? omg, that warrener accellerated SO fast. im pretty jelly that someone gets to use that. anyway, i heard the request for some tracks. lets start compiling somehow. maybe synophrys could add this stuff to the OP????

my created tracks: (PS4 only)

practice course on beach parking lot. use as feature practice, not an actual race. i think thats why its been getting downvoted but w/e

track link is in description for video.

ive created a remake of ken blocks gymkhana 7. i highly recommend a slammed vigero. i plan on putting a video out showcasing the track within the next few weeks (long time i know, but i have to back off of how much i play)

but here that is:

for more practice, i have playlists ive compiled of some precision courses and some mountain touges. try em out!

let me know if that link doesnt work.

I propose a challenge:

I suggest we start giving each other challenges to complete, one makes a video about a good drift-spot, and the rest tries to drift that spot to the best of their abilities.
You don't have to do the exact same, but it's literally just an "own the spot" kind of deal. Time-limit would be a week or so I guess, gives people with jobs time enough to get some clips.

I really hope we can make this idea work.
This would be my first challenge to you guy's

Good idea, I'll have a go at as long as nobody minds if I do it in SP, as has been well documented I'll only be able to get a drift car online when I get a fourth garage. Maybe when heists come out who knows.

Oh, cool idea. thats one of my favorite go to spots if im near LSC. Nacho, whatever man, just no slidey cars !!

@synophrys, idk if i speak for everyone here, but i would MUCH rather hear your car then crappy stock sharefactory music.

do we need music? i think we all do better hearing car sounds than tunes. if you are to include music, bump up the gta audio so that you can clearly hear whats going on with your engine.

ill be cutting back how much i play, but i think a week is perfect. set challenges mondays or something and then give till next monday to submit? then whoever picked the spot can choose someone's video "as a winner" or something and have the "winner" pick the next spot?

ill try and put some clips together of that spot. are we trying to copy lines or just shred a certain area?

Without the music it's too dry, I'll tone down the music levels next time, if Sharefactory allows such a thing.

Where's the location in the video? I'll do 1 over the weekend.

Was thinking something similar the other day but more along the lines of a short circuit or point to put that someone posts up and then we can have a go at it too.

It's to the east of the LSC in the north of the city, just a stones throw away. Look for the tunnel going underneath the shopping centre.

if youre coming from the northeast headed to LSC, everyone usually takes the left side of the tunnel under the building near LSC so that they can fly off the stunt jump right next to the LSC entrance. if you take the right road youll fly right by this perfect show car spot. (i like to put my car in between the columns in the middle for a sexy photo shoot)

He pretty much IS there. Hes not gonna be able to do the things you can do in a shwartzer, in a ruiner. A slammed shwartzer is in a class of its own slidewise, although it looks incredibly slow and artificial. The ruiner drifting looks more authentic but will never be able to hold a slide like a shwartzer.

Is there a particular way to slam a Gauntlet? Every time I try the damn thing sets alight.

Great thread BTW, just read through all 12 pages. I can drift like a champ in Forza but GTA is so different and I'm watching as many videos as I can to get going.

There's 3 different ways I know of,

-Shooting the middle cap of the wheels

-Shooting the very edge of the rim (on the edge closest to the road/ closest to the beginning of the skirts/rear bumper.

-Shooting through the side skirt where the wheel would be if it were square.

Not the best explanation, but there are plenty of videos out there that explain this,

A simple 'GTA Online How To Slam' will get you there.
