I drive a red 1997 Ford Thunderbird LX:(Not my photo, but a good image of the one I have) It was a bit of a gift from my grandmother who was dead set on getting me a vehicle to drive, and she scored one for 4000 that only had 48000 miles on it. If you're going to lie, make it believable, something like a 2.0L straight four BMW. Sounds a bit off, but it's believable imo... First thing I did was to try spinning the crank with a wrench, and it was free. Then I looked at the wiring, and there was a dead fusable link. Dude came over with an air pump, a jump box, and a gallon of gas and drove it home. Ended up keeping it running for another two years with minimal work. First car I actually drove was some sort of 199x Pontiac Grand Am that I paid a couple hundred for and may have also traded for a bag of pot when I was done, now that I think about it. Or I could tell the truth. I had a early 90s (J Reg I think..) Ford Fiesta LX 1.3 which used more oil than it did petrol, was brown (with a hint of maroon), had a rust hole in the floor, had to shift down a gear to get up any sort of incline and pulled to the left at random intervals. It was an early eco-car with awesome-long gear-ratios and an indicator that showed the ideal time to do the gear-change. I would have preferred a Honda CRX HF though. But it was never available here in Germany, or even Europe. That VW was my only one and after that I have mostly owned Hondas. Amongst which I had the original Honda Insight from 2000 which was amazingly economical. Nowadays I have a, rust-free and stock, 1990 CRX for niceweather-driving. I got it in white and with 5 doors (4 door for those who understand it differently). Its a great car plus white stands out and it gets me around and is well on the motorway (highway) and in the countryside.
