reyks Posted February 4, 2015 Share Posted February 4, 2015 Howdy folks! So I'm plannng on buying an IPS monitor, since I noticed a lot of good stuff about it. I wanted to hear you guys opinions on this particular monitor the LG 23MP55HQ-P, and how this thing is when it comes to gaming (if there's any type of ghosting or ugly crap on the screen), also I absolutely hate dead/stuck pixels and I'm not sure how polished LG stuff is these days. Also there's another model I'm interested the ultra-wide LG 25UM65 not sure if an 21:9 panel is worth it since 99% of the media these days is aimed towards 16:9 stuff. And please keep in mind I live in Brazil(unfortunately) and this is the best stuff I could find that isn't insanely overpriced due to taxes. Ryan Posted February 5, 2015 Share Posted February 5, 2015 I've got a 27" LG IPS monitor. Had it for over a year now and I have no complaints about it. Being IPS, the refresh rate is only 60hz but I don't have any issues when gaming and it is worth it for the awesome color reproduction. No dead pixels on mine too. 21:9 is interesting. From what I've read, it's great for productivity but sucks for gaming and media. If it were me, I'd just stick with 16:9. Faultless so far, much crisper than pretty much anything I've used before.
