SouthLand
Welcome to another "Spotted" thread in the GTAForums "Vehicle section" I have seen threads like this in other forums and i though i would give it a chance here. INFO: In this thread, users can post pictures, or just share with us, the most distant license plate they have spotted recently. This can apply to any vehicle either if it's a car, bike, van, truck or other vehicle that runs with an engine and you drive it on public roads. Rules: 1. Only post license plates from DISTANT places EXCEPT if the license plate is not distant but rare in your area. 2. For European users, Distant does not mean: "A car from Amsterdam in Germany" or, "A car from Lisbon in La Coruña". 3. For European users, Neighboring countries are ONLY allowed if the car comes from a very far area within the country of origin (Except if the plate is rare in your area) . Example 1: Car from Samara, Russia in Belarus (1800km/ 1118mi) = Accepted Example 2: Car from Bratislava, Slovakia in Prague (329km/ 204mi) = Not accepted 4. For USA/Canada users, It's allowed to post license plates from other states as long as they are far from your location. 5. For North American, South American and Asian users, It's allowed to post license plate from neighboring countries if the distance is far OR if they are rare in your area. 6. If you spot a rare license plate that you don't know where it comes from, please feel free to take a snapshot and we will try to help you out. 7. Please provide any information you know about the license plate (If you can or know anything about it). If not, same as rule #6 x. ---------------------------------------------------------- I shall start! I spotted a Porsche Cayenne Turbo from Iceland in Barcelona, Spain Distance (If driving): 4.577 km/ 2844mi I spotted a Ferrari California from Krakow, Poland in Barcelona, Spain Distance: 2.250 km / 1398mi Edited February 3, 2015 by SouthLand mr quick and Flachbau
Flachbau
A couple of weeks ago, I saw a newer model Camaro with New Mexico plates on it. Very rare do I ever see something from that far. I don't know the exact distance but from New Rochelle (my city) to New Mexico it's around 2000 miles. Great topic idea, by the way. I'll be checking in a lot more. Edited February 4, 2015 by android
unbid
Last summer, I went to Paris and saw a Lincoln Continental from Ontario, Canada roaming the street of Champs de Elysees. I also found a Mini Cooper Cabrio parked nearby which is also from Ontario, but I didn't took some pics because I thought it was not as interesting as the Lincoln. Pomlei
Well, here's another Icelandic but this time in Portugal And a Jaguar from Connecticut Though the most distant license plate i've seen was a Hummer H2 from Angola last year. SouthLand
I spotted a Saab in my neighborhood with a Sweden license plate, and a Toyota Versus with a Belorussian license plate also. If i spot them again and they are parked, i promise i will take a picture. Though the most distant license plate i've seen was a Hummer H2 from Angola last year. Since Angola was a Portuguese colony back then, I bet the H2 owner was a Angolan living in Portugal and brought his car along with him.

79'Blazer4x4
I think I've spotted American plates here in Alberta before but I don't remember what states they were so I can't count them, since the farthest plate I remember seeing here was from Ontario which is farther away than some US states are. Svip
I once saw a Pennsylvania plate on a car parked at Nice Airport. Then again, I also saw a UAE plate on a Ferrari in Nice Airport. The Ferrari was being lifted out of an aeroplane. Pick that up at belt 5. Flachbau
Andreaz1
Nice idea for a thread. I've seen a few cars from Spain; those are probably the ones from farthest away. More "special" though I think are one or two from Monaco and two from Luxembourg spotted this week in to different cities. sivispacem
UAE and Saudi Arabian plated cars are so common in the UK it's laughable. I've seen Japanese plated imports before as well, stuff from the US is fairly common. Seen at least one Aussie plate car too. Kiffster
I see plates and rare vehicles from various other African countries all the time. Don't know where most of them are from though. I have Angolan friends, so at least I recognize plates from over there (quite a lot of them here)

I've seen Japanese plated imports before as well, stuff from the US is fairly common. Seen at least one Aussie plate car too. London comes to mind for UAE/Saudi Arabian plated cars, but of course they're mostly imported super cars and maybe a few sports cars as far as I've seen considering I don't live in London, but close to it. Can't complain though can you? Anyway, I think I've seen a Polish plated car and an American one too. Otherwise I never see any cars from overseas. SouthLand
I saw today a Volkswagen Golf from Russia (177 Regional code = Moscow) 3650km from my hometown. I told my sister to take picture but she was retarded and the plate came all white and then she took another and it was all blurry...

Shaundi.
As someone who's from Melbourne, the furthest national licence plate I'll always see is from Western Australia & Northern Territory. And a decade ago, I'm pretty sure I saw a licence plate with Arabic characters on it at the airport being unloaded off an Emirates plane, I would assume it's from the UAE. Svip
This reminds me, would it be unproblematic to drive a car on European plates (and registered in Europe) in North America? I mean, it seems to be little issue driving a car on North American plates in Europe.

(Can remember the amount of months). EU plates are not comsidered foreign.

That way you could take your car there on a vacation or whatever but if you were to actually move there you obviously couldn't run foreign plates for too long. Most, if not all, American states require licence plates on the rear of the vehicle but not on the front.
