Hey guys and gals, every single GTA 5 video i see on youtube the minimap is almost on the middle of the screen, this is really annoying for me, am i the only person who set the safe zone all the way up? The minimap fits perfect with your TV this way.

I adjust it, and I know what you're talking about...but I try to make sure my videos have no map or hud. I've done it on PS3 had it neatly in the corner, I think on PS4 it's done throught the PS4 OS safezone option which I've adjusted, correct?

I haven't played Watchdogs but seeing screenshots the minimap is crazy nearly in the centre of the screen, what's up with that? Is that adjustable.

PS4 It seems to not adjust as perfect as PS3 (map border touching the sides of TV screen? Like they are accounting for Overscan, Underscan settings on people who don't know how to fix it on there TV.

PS4 adjusted safezone example in my signature GIF.

Yeah it annoys me when people do that too, for GTA I like the icons to be tucked as neatly as they can into the edges of the corner.

A lot of friens houses I go to never do this, and they don't even set up their TV for gaming, leaving it in MOVIE mode or something, ao there's loads of input lag, which I really cant stand when gaming.

Sorry, a little thing, but it just annoys me :)

Safe zone is funny. It was important setting back when TVs were analog and the game overscanned outside of the image frame. But PlayStation 4 and Xbox One require an HD TV. That's a digital screen so there no more need for such a setting. It should always be all the way out.

It highly annoys me men, looks like that only 1% of the players does adjust it.

Well, i think i have to agree on this :)

I set mine so the minimap is as far away from the edge as it is in the Gameplay Preview that Rockstar released before the game came out.

That's the right place to be ;)

I place mine to the closest to the screen, it makes it easier to see the map without losing focus. It's along the same lines of using a small monitor compared to a bigger TV.

Hm, no, i still winning deathmatches with the safe zone all the way to the left and down.

TBF, I like doing this in COD everything available at a glance, gives me an edge

I always turn it up to the max where the radar is just barely touching the edge of my screen. Hey, if you watched Rockstar's gameplay videos, they seem to like it like that anyway. And it annoys me when the HUD is practically at the center of the screen, that "Saving" Icon from Assassins Creed IV still annoys the f*ck out of me, it's practically in the middle of the screen! God, OCD sucks.

Well there is still space between the map and the edge of the screen in Rockstar's videos. You have to keep in mind the city/street names in the bottom right. Too close to the edge and letters that hang like a "g" will get clipped off.

Looks nice in GTA V, but not in other games. Just try FIFA15, the UI its cropped and doesn't look good. Also, as an UI designer, I don't feel good with the minimap/car brand/street name touching my TV edges. Feels better centered but, well, everyone to his own taste.
