"Timed out locating session" Help?

On xbone. Been getting this error message since yesterday, private/friend-only/invite-only sessions work like a gem, but anything publicly online gives me that error. Any solutions?

Many others, including myself, have experienced this same issue. It's not an issue on your end. Most likely, it has to do with Rockstar's servers. I've also had it occur with something snapped, such as a party.

Don't even get me started on the joke of "party", every single f*cking time, neither of us can hear eachother, or one of us has the other's name blanked out on their party, usually we have to hard-reset our xbox's but recently not even that has fixed it.

Yup getting the same thing on Xbox One, timed out every time, Rockstar might be doing something, the Rat Loaders sale price went down from $16,600 to 14,380 while I was playing in one session. Looks like they may be hot fixing some things.

Yep been getting that too, hasn't ever happened until yesterday so that shows it's on their end. They're doing a maintenance tomorrow so perhaps they'll be looking into that.

R* cloud servers are giant pieces of virtual sh*t.

 

They should go back to whatever server type the used for GTA IV, i rarely had connection issues on there, and when i did, it was always something minor that wasnt all too annoying, like getting randomly disconnected from a session, but since gta iv wasnt loading screen simulator, i was always back into some mayhem within a minute or two.

It's not just Xbox. I couldn't get online and it said it needed a file from Rockstar that couldn't be dl now. May be a coincidence, but the social club is down for maintenance also.
