[2/3/15] Maintenance for Social Club and Online.

Rockstar posted on twitter they were doing maintenance and the hours no other info. I doubt any update is coming but a guy can dream.

Lol post of the day, I'm going to rockstar support to open as ticket about my missing Marshall if that happens.

If they do blacklist it do not enter your garage see if u can call it from mechanic. Its how we kept police cars another few weeks

I was enjoying driving it when the servers went offline lol. It was the Belgian truck, black with dark steel metal chassis bars. I was with my green eyed freckled Belgian looking girl with shiny black leggings. It was all together the hottest thing ever seen in GTA online. Trucks plates are FLEMISH1.

People who think "Server maintenance = ZOMG, UPDATE INCOMING!!!" are just blind as hell.

 

I said this in another thread, but judging by the far greater hype in this one (271 users reading this? What?!), I feel somewhat compelled to also post this here;

 

NEVER, IN ALL THE YEARS OF GTA ONLINE, HAS A MAINTENANCE BEEN CORRELATED WITH AN UPDATE. NEVER.

What the hell do they even do for those six hours? There's one working glitch and no problems, and obviously they aren't adding anything. Servers have been fine... But I bet they find a way to f*ck them up during this "maintenance"

Likely adding backend support in the form of hardware (servers, switches, etc) as well as patching current software (again, servers and switches) in preperation for additional load.

 

All DLC is a stress test for this, as people come back online who haven't played in awhile. A minor DLC update (VD, f'instance) is a good way to increase your network load and see what's needed.

 

A major update (hists) is going to be a much larger test of the new enivroment, which needs to be ready in time for PC.

 

It's still logical that hists comes before PC, as the Hist update will deliver major load to the backend as well as open up new glitches to be patched before the PC players come online and really hammer not only the backend but the code for Hists in general.

 

I don't think tonight is Hists. I fully expect that Tuesday or Thursday will bring a minor DLC event to loadtest the system though in the form of VD.

So, Bloated Sack is hoping for a VD test? XD

I personally prefer (all the way back from April 4th):

I think the Salient points have been underlined. R* are no more or less believable than anyone else.

either way, it sure took them long enough

 

but regardless, 6 hours just for server maintenance... i'm not even going to think for one second that it's heists, or anything related to it.

i'll just assume it's R* giving themselves an obnoxiously large time-frame for something that should probably take no more than 2 hours. they do have a history of procrastinating a sh*tload.

 

a small update would still be nice, i'm still looking forward to the Valentine's Day update, if they're even planning on doing that this year.
