Do i need a last generation console to get the exclusive content?

Hey guys, when i purchase a PS4 or XB1 i will sell my X360 since i won't use it no longer, but after moving to next gen do i still have to do something on the X360 to transfer my online character and get the exclusive content or not? My progress is saved on Social Club already.

 

I already have my Xbox Live account linked, may only do a Playstation Network in case of purchasing a PS4 instead of the XB1.

Yes. You need to have your last gen console to get the exclusive features and you also need to have a gamesave on last gen with the prologue passed, with your profiles linked to your R* games social club account. TBH, i wouldnt recomend selling your last gen console yet because most of the games on next gen are re-released games that were on last gen.

It is connected to your Social Club account. I have not touched my Xbox 360 since I bought my Xbox One and it automatically imported my character.

Yes I did get the exclusive content automatically. I was actually amazed at how easy and seamless the process was for transferring. I cannot vouch for transferring from Xbox 360 to PS4, I do not know if it is a similar process.

May be, i will delete my Xbox Live account files from the 360 if i sell it, so the person who purchase it won't screw it up, and if it's the case of purchasing a PS4 i think i only need to do a PSN account and link it to Social Club, by the way i think i'm purchasing a Xbox One, but it doesn't really matter what console i get since they both have Rockstar titles and also some other cool third party and exclusive games .

You'll be fine deleting it, since it's saved on the Social Club.

you do not need a last gen console. i traded both my ps3/360 in for my ps4 an have all the content. the new content is tied to your social club account so as long as you are connected to that an your game was uploaded so is kinda up to date from your last save on last gen your online save an the content will just transfer automatically. just make sure your social club account has your ps4 or xbone system linked on it aswell. i didnt have to do anything but double check my ps4 showed up on my social club under my list of consoles.

the only prequisite to get the returning player content is:

having the prologue mission marked as "completed" on the xbox360 social club statistics...

 

if this is the case, the game automatically adds the returning player content after starting your current gen console..

 

and for online character: as long as your PSN and XBL accounts are both connected to the social club, the online character transfer will be started automatically after accessing online on your new console... you do not need to do anything else...

 

so you dont need to touch your old console anymore

Yup, all my progress on missions was showing up there until SC became offline , until i get my new console i will try to do all missions and strangers and freaks with gold medals and finish it up 100% on last gen.
