Windscreen transparency

Recommended Posts

Hi

I'm doing San Andreas playthrough with the first person mod and there's a thing that bugs me a bit.

When you sit inside of a car your view is darker thanks to only partial transparency of the windows. It's not so bad during the day but driving in the middle of the night is very difficult thanks to it. I tried to fix it myself by editing textures but it didn't work. After googling I found out that the transparency for each car is being handled by each .dff file.

So as far I can think of some solutions, but they are a lot more complicated for me because of my limited knowledge.

- somehow disabling a particular dummy from spawning in vehicles

- script that disables windscreen dummy when the player enters a car and enables it when player leaves

- changing how the game renders windows

- maybe other

Could someone please help me find or make a solution?

Thanks.

The only solution to your problem is to use this instead:

With that cleo, you no longer have windows. I'm not sure why the windows are a problem for you but it is meant to be dark when you're inside the car.

And it is not a bug.

I know it's not a bug, but it annoys me. The FPD does manage to make the windows transparent but fails to provide the flexibility of Voron295's mod.

Also I noticed either a bug or a feature that when headlights are turned on, the windows disappear. This partially solves my problem until I crash and destroy the car's headlights.
