Since the game uses a radial / circle menu for the radio stations, I wonder if Rockstar will add Independence FM (= custom user tracks) to it. But this would mean making the radio stations closer to each other in order to have 1 more station added. Or the radio stations icons would get smaller. I really don't know if Rockstar will make this. I am kinda pessimistic.

What's your opinion?

They'll figure out a way, in any case what do you lose if they make the radio station icons smaller, amirite? :)

And it's not much to discuss about by them really, it's pretty much an obvious addition that's been present in every GTA title on PC, so don't sweat it.

Might be OT, but why did they not add it on consoles?

USB drive with music, done. Should be really easy.

Maybe they don't want to make one at all?

Previous GTA Titles didn't had Independence FM on consoles either. It's a PC only thingy.

I voted not sure because they haven't said anything about it yet but I would love to have voted a definite yes. Either way I'm hoping we do get it.

I don't know of any console game that let you use your own music in-game.

Midnight club: LA is one of the only console games I know of that allowed you to use your own music but you had to choose between music or in game sound effects so it was pretty pointless.

I'm not sure yet. However, do any of you think they may spoof services like Spotify?

Heh, yeah this would be cool.

Agreed. In fact doing so, it could mean an app on the characters smartphones.

Yeah just my thinking. You could tune into Independence FM for a random selection of music, with adverts and a DJ, or you could choose the individual songs via "Snotify" on your smartphone.

i really hope so although gta v has alot of good songs that got way better in the next gen some of them i still find repative and i dont like to hear those same songs again again like i loved to in all the previous gta's so my custom 90s/80s/70s classic rock 80s and 90s pop and some 80s heavy metal would make it better and hopefully ill play this game more with that

Gta trilogy on xbox got this option ( no Independence fm for sure , but San Andreas had the option to mix the songs with commercials, if I remember correctly . The name Independence fm is also featured for the custom radio station on the apple store version of Chinatown wars.

Last gen consoles allowed us to play our songs while playing . On X360, the in-game music will turn off by itself and the console only keep the sound effects on . It was more a console than a game feature .

For Independence in V , I hope R* make something a little bit audacious . Like allowing us to upload playlist file on dropbox or whatever so our GTAO buddies can listen to our mix while in our car .

Hmm, that would be cool, but isn't that a nono in the eyes of the law?

Probably . I didn't read at the moment but the idea that Rockstar should allow us to create the radio's mix via our Spotify playlist is a better idea ( easier for R* and the players ) . Well, that is just fantasy , but we'll sure have a nice radio station made with the same attention to details than the others . Independence fm in IV got a cool dj and humourous jingles .

It's been in every other game so far. I don't know why it wouldn't be in this one.

GTA Online could be a reason against it. So far that was the only thing that caused all the f**k-ups in Rockstar's tradition and schedule regarding V.

So yeah, as long as they are quite about custom tracks (and they are), I'll wait with the applause.
