Is it too late to play GTA Online if you are a Level 1?

Recommended Posts

Hello. New to GTA Online (never played it before because I played Red Dead Redemption religiously before modders took it over and broke the multiplayer aspect of the game). I was just wondering if it's too late to make a character and play GTA Online?

Any tips on making money fast and what specific vehicles to own and not own? Thanks

Stopped playing IV Multiplayer because there was nothing to prove anymore. Smacking kids in multiplayer on that game got old after a while.

No, it's never too late... One thing you are going to want to do is do missions. They make you money and RP which is important. Than once you get more money and a higher level, play however you like.

Starting from the bottom could be fun. Look for missions to grind for good cash or play different missions race have fun.search on this forum for good tips like dupsta 2.I still see low rank players.

It's never too late pal, if anything your timing is spot on with the new gen release there are now loads of lower ranked players, when I switched to xbone at Xmas I transferred both characters but decided to delete my 1st one and start a new one , think I am level 40 already , so you rank up pretty quick , I would def recommend doing the tutorial , join mission invites by other players as these are usually missions you need be high rank to do ,even now I still read online guides cos there is always something you didn't know you do however long you been playing , and keep a regular check on forums specifically this one as you will pick up all latest tips, but most important of all is simply ENJOY it , x

GTA Online is one of those games in which it really doesn't matter when you start. In games like Battlefield you basically get raped if you start too late, with little to no chance to learn the ropes. GTA is absolutely not like that, it gives you a lot of room to learn the ropes, even with all those high level players around you. Just start with missions, races, survivals and such. By doing those you get more skilled at the game and after awhile you can take on other players easily.

Take my advice.

Get good at shooting and know just which weapons to use at the right times.

First, it really helps you survive in freemode, secondly if you're good at it, a lot of money can be made from deathmatches and last team standings as long you and your team wins them.

Really, earning money from races, DMs and LTS is both fun and variated, compared to grinding missions.

Easy money for low levels is to get a gun and rob convenience stores. Don't shoot the clerk.

Also do jobs for Simeon. Sell cars in free roam every 50 minutes.

When you do start out and do the tutorial you get a free personal vehicle. Make sure to get something good like an F620, Sandking, Felon, or Sentinel XS.

Never buy body armor. Even at high levels it is tissue paper. Low levels have it worse.

Find where helicopters spawn in Freeroam. They will be valuable to you.

People are starting over with new characters all the time. No Problem...

The Key isn't making money, all kinds of ways to do that...

The Key is KEEPING your money!!!!

Stay out of the free roam wars

don't buy a super car, get a free Elegy and upgrade it for racing

buy a cheap 10 car garage and fill it with street cars you can sell every 45 mins

Buy a Buzzard when you unlock it a level 43, then you'll be earning big money and you can start spending!

Sign up on R*'s social club and get the Elegy RH8 from Legendary Motorsports (website on the in game phone) for free. It's one of the best cars in game so great to start with.

The dlc weapons on the right hand side of Ammunation are not level locked and are usually more powerful than their level locked counterparts.

yes it is, you missed the billionare days and the hooker glitch. its gonna take you years or months if you grind everyday for 8+ hrs/day to buy everything you want.

Ofcourse not, they both are very different things.

get into a friendly crew with people who will happily help you. the missions accessible at low levels pay accordingly but working with higher level players will allow you to learn and earn at the same time, especially survivals which boost your shooting skill and you will get a nice payout. working with crew members gets you extra RP too and as said by someone else, get on social club. get on lifeinvader and stalk EVERYTHING for discounts and a few freebies. pick up cash whenever possible because it all adds up.

racing with people who dont care about winning will help you unlock things on top of the usual rewards

deathmatches are not worth doing as a low ranker unless they are forced or forced plus pickup. they really even the score when the high levels are involved but playing against people will all weapons can put you right off them. that is exactly why i spent 28 minutes in DMs over 15 months of playing. shooting a pistol at a sniper is not going to go well for you!

pick up ammunition too. the better your shooting skill the more you can carry up to 9999 rounds. survivals are great for picking up weapons too although you will lose them when you change session unless you have them unlocked. no need to buy them if you do it this way and that can save a lot of money.

dont bother with car upgrades until you have unlocked the best upgrades. the differences are not worth the expense and a lot of them are for winning races anyway so that is another reason to find people who dont need the wins

Honestly, ever since payouts got re-balanced, it's never been better to get started from scratch in this game. Early Simeon/Gerald missions now actually pay $10k+, rather than the peanuts of the 'good old days'.

OP, main thing is to keep doing activities, even random races/parachute jumps and the like, to keep ranking up steadily - that's important if you want to unlock services from Lester and other contacts.

But in general, this isn't like FPS games or some MMOs, where there's only a brief window for getting into the game before everyone else is so far advanced that they dominate everything. Heck, I found that starting from scratch with a second character back in April, really breathed new life into the game for me, so there's never a bad time to get into it! :)

Anyone who says it's too late to start is a negative asshole.
