Random crews, who goof off in missions

Recommended Posts

I know when playing with randoms, it is common for a player to be AFK at times, or maybe one player just goes off goofing about,, i dont think to much about this no worries..

But last night i got an invitation from a guy to join "A Titan of a Job" i took the invitation the job was set to hard, i thought oh sh*t i am on my second character and only have a pistol (level 5)

when i joined i saw the other three players were members of the same crew, all level 100plus so i waited to be kicked from the lobby.....never happened.... but once the mission started we were at Beekers Garage, the other three players took off, so i stole a vehicle and headed to the airport, I arrived first so i check the map to see where the other players were at........they were off roading in the mountains

I said what the hell i normally do this job solo and on hard..lets see if i can do it with just a pistol and a handfull of bullets

it took some time but i did manage to steal the Titan and land it safely at Sandy Shores where the other 3 team mates were waiting we made close to 20k each

So at the voting screen i left and returned to freeroam a minute or two later i get another invite from the same person to do Titian of a Job one again...........i took the invite once again , same story as before we are at Beekers Garage, they take off off roading.......so i do the mission again its easier this time because of picked up weapons ........ONLY this time as i make the approach to the air field i do a fly by to see where the other 3 are.......yep same place all standing on the tops of there cars at the helipad ..........so i took the titan up, and turned her nose down and did a kamikaze crash into them.....afterwards i sent each one a msg that only said OPPS

Arrows to Athens

They are making someone else do all the work. It's funny because a similar thing happened to me yesterday. I got in a mission with only the host was over level 100. The mission was judging the jury so I needed his help in the mission. The guy just chilled in his apartment while I went into my buzzard trying to take out the jurors. I just left.

They are treating it as if its free roam while you are treating it as a mission.

Yea they're just trying to get someone to do everything for them. When this happens to me, I either leave or destroy the objective at the very end. If they hit restart, I'll continue to destroy it. Idiots.

so i took the titan up, and turned her nose down and did a kamikaze crash into them.....afterwards i sent each one a msg that only said OPPS

You should have done that the first time instead of giving them $20k.

well the first time around i gave them the benefit of a doubt.......but after seeing they were restarting the mission from Freemode .........I kinda had my plan in my mind when i went the 2nd time

I don't like doing the work myself or them AFKing. One guy just stood in his apartment the whole time I did Rooftop Rumble so I called my Besra and flew with the documents all the way to the northern coasts and killed myself when I crashed into the ocean. Then left. Dude had balls to message me and go 'WTF DID YOU THAT FOR?!" when I left. F*cker didn't do anything but sit there and piggyback off my work. I'm not your damn work monkey.

I ignore them and complete the mission, I still get the same amount of money and their cash doesn't come out of my pocket.

I still don't get all the hate for AFK guys in missions

Why not land the Titan, call Peggy and start dropping their PV's in the Alamo sea? Then pull up the Titan and complete the mission.

Trolling a mission ( failing it on purpose) for any reason, is about the biggest DB move in the game IMHO.

Going AFK for a few minutes is one thing. But inviting people with the sole purpose of watching them do all the work or roaming around the map not helping? That's just pathetic.

Most of the high levels in missions are trolls and/or afk, especially in Rooftop Rumble.

Tip: Don't play missions with random high levels.

While I agree that the likelyhood of a troll is greater in Rooftop Rumble, your generalization is unfair and a common source of frustration for me.

My characters are very high levels. I like to join random contact missions on call and I always play the objective. However, I find myself getting kicked maybe 1 in 5 because the host is either too obstinant to close the matchmaking or because they assume I'm a cheater/troll.

Sorry, but your comment struck a nerve.

OT: I'll give AFCers the benefit of the doubt. I'll go on about my business, completing the objective. If, by the end, they are still AFC or not playing the objective, I'll leave and find a new bunch of randoms to play with.

How can it be trolling if you're the only person who took the mission seriously to begin with?

Also, the hate for AFKs usually stem from a personal experience of someone piggybacking off your work IRL and still getting the same reward. Maybe you're a bum and don't work, or you have really awesome co-workers that always do their share, but until you experience a real life AFKer (slacker, crappy co-worker, or someone taking credit for your work) you'll never understand why we hate those people so much, even in a video game.

I'm a random high level. Don't group me in with those douche bags, please.

How about the random teammates who walk up to your car in the beginning of the mission, act like they are going to jump in and ride with you, but then pull out a baseball bat and/or grenade? Oh, I just love them.

Or the ones who get whatever the mission's goal item is (i.e. briefcase, Coke, etc), and then run around with it wreaking havoc for 20 minutes instead of taking it to the endpoint to complete the mission? Good times.

Guy swung a bat at my akuma at the beginning of a mission. Then proceeded to beat up peds with the bat like he was GTA 3 again for 15 minutes as I watched. Eventually I went and blew up the titan, play with NPCs on your own time

Some real world advice........

If you do the work for the credit you won't get it, do the work to get it done and let the credit fall where it may...

oh, ya .. and life's not always fair

Dad

To those of you here trolling those that laze about in missions: well done, keep up the good work, I shall shower you with bliss & joy.

To those of you using missions as a copless freemode, very clever, BUT DON'T INVITE ANYONE! Start the mission alone, or at least tell them what you're up to.

And finally those of you making crass generalisations: there's no such thing as "random" or a "type" of player. Open your mind.

Now that's that fixed, I'm off to the Middle East to sort that lot oot.

I f*cking hate people that think i'm afk just because my character isn't moving. I was calling my mechanic to request a car and this d-bag just came over and said "look at this afk motherfker" and ran me over with his Zentorno and voted to kick me.

I am not bitching about a sole player being AFK......i know sometimes being AFK happens because something may have came up, Phone call, Knock at the door, hell somebodys stomach may have were taking a sh*t now in the bathroom, or in your pants you pick but a brown dog is gonna be born,,,,,,,

I am talking about groups/crews who do this and go off goofing about

Maybe they wanted you to join them in off roading in a peaceful environment and after doing so, leave the session with completing the mission for some extra cash?

@ Obeef619, then they should have spoke up or at least sent a message .....as far a goofing off for extra cash goes, the time it took me to drive down there from beekers garage (almost 7 miles out) and the time i had to take to complete the mission ,remember i am a Level 5 with only a Pistol and a hand full of Bullets and my health stats suck so i have to go slower 2 to 3 hits and i am dead I also dont own a garage so my car is parked at my last location and i dont have the option to request it so i had to steal one to get there..........I would say i took 20 -25 minutes easily.......pretty much maxing out the pay for time
