We've all been there where someone joined your job just to sit there and do nothing and earn the rewards in it's entirety.

 

I wish there was some way that R* could punishment them for not being active such as if they didn't go to the objective or just stood still the whole time they would receive no money or RP or if they don't move at all after 5 minutes after the mission starts they will be automatically kicked from the Job.

 

What would you say to R* implemented something like this?

 

Would you be for it? Why or Why Not?

 

What kind of punishment would you prefer being handed out & How/What would trigger those punishments?

If you join a mission and are AFK for more than 5 minutes you should get locked out of joining anything other than free roam for 1 hour. Simple fix that alot of online PC games use. If you think this is to rough then dont join a job if you know you dont have 15 minutes to play

That is not a good solution in my opinion but I don't have a better one at this point.....

I find just texting the other players to kick the inactive person works just fine.

I also do this, but it's rare that they do. If possible, I run over the AFK player. Extra lives be damned.

Not all are freeloading. I once went for a piss and came back to find I was the only player left alive. I completed the mission, and the others had a slightly higher increase in payout because of my weak bladder.

I'm not talking about people who have an excuse for being AFK who eventually come to life, But those who just sit there for the whole mission.

 

We had an issue where we all died and he was the only one left alive and he just stood there we all had to quit the mission because he wouldn't move even after we sent him PMs

1/2. MSG the host to kick. Majority rules. How hard is it to get 2 people out of 4 to vote kick?

3. You aren't doing it by yourself. There is another player/s. You are complaining about AFK unless you are doing 2 player missions which means you are playing by yourself if the other is AFK.

Please don't make another bad feature like rockstar did with BS.

And how do you tell what's going on with the afk?

Start mission, guy stops going anywhere for some reason, ends up killing himself and taking away our 1 respawn

Suprisingly hard. Half of the time I get a text back saying they don't know how. Also, last time I checked it takes 3 of 4 votes to kick a player.

Why are people like you so aggresively opposed to any kind of change in GTA? Even with something as insignificant as a f*cking boot timer?

I'll just assume you're one of those that join RR and goes and makes a sandwich while everyone earns you money.

If you know there may be a chance you would be interupted then just cruise around in free roam searching for vehicals to sell. Its not rocket science. If you know you have 20 minutes spare then jump in if not then dont. I play a lot of games with this feature and its never been an issue what so ever.

 

When I would get kicked I just /camp anyway so I get logged and a new player takes my placve within 30n seconds. No harm no foul and then I can just do whatever because by the time i get back its only like 10 mions until debuff is gone and youre free to do what ever you want

I'm not talking about that, I have no issues with that and most people will even say BRB i am talking about those who will join missions and not move at all the whole time.

 

Sure sometimes missions take all of 5 minutes and while the person was AFK we finished the mission but when they join the 2nd and 3rd mission and don't move than they are doing it on purpose

I'd take a AFK/inactive player over a saboteur any day.

Like the clown (host) with the document from a perfectly clean run Rooftop Rumble mission who then decided to stand on a roof near Madrazo's house jerking off for 20 minutes with all the players rage quitting one by one.

But original question, if they are inactive and within striking distance like standing on the side of a road they should get flattened. You'd get nothing but applause from the other players.

If you know there may be a chance you would be interupted then just cruise around in free roam searching for vehicals to sell. Its not rocket science. If you know you have 20 minutes spare then jump in if not then dont. I play a lot of games with this feature and its never been an issue what so ever.

FYI kids are in college. Wife likes me playing rather than bothering her. Pizza guy likes my tips. Parents will be moving in soon or getting sent to the farm.

I've never had problems with the Kick systems. See a lot of AFK get kicked from Survivals, generally around wave 5/6. You know they are there too otherwise the idle timer would of booted them by now.

 

There's no need to change anything about AFK. Oh no, your 15 minute mission had an AFK player, let's re haul the entire system to effect other players who may have to leave for emergency/legit reason. Punish everyone under the same umbrella. Great logic....your next mission won't have the AFK if you use the right meausures already in the game.

 

For your assumption, I am in RR at the Parking garage, watching as an idiot drives to Fort Zancudo for a free jet trip around San Andreas. They are far worse then the AFKs as they hold up completion of the mission.

Re haul the entire system? Are you serious? It's probably a matter of changing a few numbers in the games coding lol. And if an actual emergncy comes up while you're playing, making money in GTA is the least of your concerns. Turn off your console. I think five minute timer is more than enough. You got enough time to take a quick dump and cook a Hot Pocket before you get kicked.

If I get an idiot in the mission just standin around, I get in my car and roll em off my hood, just as a warning to get their sh*t together.

 

If they still standing there after I've completed the objective, I will run em over and kill them. Hopefully there is more than one life remaining so I can do it again.

 

You may be able to sit there and get the free money, but I'm going to get my worth by running your worthless ass over, then quickly air thrusting your stupid dead body until it vanishes. Mwahahaha. Lazy douche. -.-.l.

So you are a game coder now? Send your resume to Rockstar and implement your great idea.

 

Making money would be the least of my concerns but why should I be punished if I had just joined a mission and had to tend to something? It could be as simple as cleaning up a broken glass or spilt food but why should I be punished for being AFK for a minor period? Do I have to turn my console off every time I want to pee?

 

There's no need for anything. An average mission would take 8-10 minutes and people are so worked up that a player was AFK for that period we need to change things. Whoop dee do they got a free payout of virtual currenancy.

Pizza guy is just stupid. You know you orderrd pizza why are you playing a TEAM BASED job while you know you will be interupted?
