S0UTHERN_C0MF0RT
I remember reading in the months leading up to GTA V's release that your money on hand could be stolen by muggers and other situations, but they never said how much money can be stolen? Does anyone know? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/764443-how-much-cash-on-hand-can-you-lose/ Share on other sites

REDDICE
Depends how much money you have in hand and what level you are. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/764443-how-much-cash-on-hand-can-you-lose/#findComment-1066907104 Share on other sites
Ghost XB
As said above, depends on how much cash you have and your level. I usually freeroam with like $300k cash and even if I die, I only loose a few grand (2k - 10k). RandallFlagg00
I think you can only lose $500 from dying. When it says other players can steal your money that's reffering to the mugger. FrugalDangerMan
Depending on how much cash you are carrying, you can drop up to $500 every time you die plus whatever the hospital costs typically another $400 - $500. Muggers can steal up to $10,000 every time they are successful. This was how I give my low level friends money. I set bounties on one, let the other kill them to collect then have them call a mugger while I'm holding a $100,000 or so. Now I just show them the Chrome Dubsta/Sad Trombone trick. It pays better and I don't loose a dime. It pays better and I don't loose a dime. What's the sad trombone trick? It's a method to increase the selling price of a vehicle. For example: - steal a Baller from the street. Normally that sells for 9k - take it to LSC - go to Suspension and hover over the different suspesion settings a couple of times. No need to buy - then go to Horns and select Sad Trombone. - the Sad Trombone option should now be free of charge. Apply it - Sell the Baller for 22k instead of 9k Applying this method to the Gold Dubsta and some of the other modded cars you can find in FR, will give you more money in the end. It's not gonna make you rich, but a little extra pocket money always helps Also works with the Rat Loader that you can buy from the web. Fill up a garage with Rat Loaders for 60k and make a profit of 100k by selling all 10 back to back. This method prevents you from having to wait for 48mins, because it's a car you buy from the web. Note, this is only viable if you have a garage close to LSC and if you like farming or grinding ... Rat Loader trick I agree. In fact I can't be arsed with either option Every now and then I steal a car from the street when I happen to see an interesting one and apply the above method. Other then that, I make money by simply playing the game with the crew. aaronBLUEeyes
When game first came out if you carried more than 5k all of it could be stolen off your person. And under only a percentage. This made sense and was an incentive to bank your money. It also cost 2k for hospital and ambulatory expenses each time a player died. Now it's lame and I believe it's only like a grand or below. Perhaps I'll test this with some friends soon to get accurate metrics. That being said, like any exploit discovered, use it at your own risk and don't abuse it.
