Will Heists be the last DLC on old gen?

Been thinking about this, heists are pretty much all R owes to last gen. R has already talked about console limitations and there is already current gen only content.

R has also stated that is the money from cash cards that allows us to continue recieving free DLCs.

There are far less players currently on current gen as opposed to old gen to help fuel their cash card sales(imo ofcourse, not enough to continue supplying free DLCs). And with no new content on old gen cash card sales are destined to sink.

How do you guys think R will handle this prediciment?

On one hand they will be short of cash from current gen cash card sales due to lack of players.

On the other hand they are running out of room to keep adding new content to old gen users.

Do they at some point, say after heists are released be done with old gen and begin charging for DLCs? Surely if they are not making enough cash through cash cards from current gen users they can not continue to supply free DLC content.

 

Id like to hear some of your thoughts on some of these possible upcoming situations.

LOL I've got something for any fool coming into my house. Hint: Death..And I still ain't buying a PS4 unless they have some cash I can take off of their dead bodies.

Everyone is trying to get a snappy post that you're not even debating the point.

 

OT: Probably, mainly because I think last gen will get like half of the DLC in a cool way to say "buy a new f*cking console already"

As much as I want a PS4 ,I am among many others that just don't have disposable income. I myself have 2 kids and a mortgage. 2 car notes/insurance. You know.. real world costs alot. Maybe nobody got me a PS4 for XMAS. Maybe I think $400+ is better spent on other things and since I know other games are supported for much longer periods than this game has been out I shouldn't feel the need to upgrade because it's not unreasonable to believe they will continue to give us poor folks some new content.

*cough* SP DLC........ they owe us that. They revealed it BEFORE NG versions were even revealed.

 

 

And they'd never stop supporting us. They know that would be a dumb move, they'd lose over half their players and possible income from updates.

SP DLC has become more of a Myth than Heists. It was mentioned back in the Spring Updates post (April 4th) and basically has not been mentioned since.

 

Surprised if it does not come out shortly after PC Release so they can try and maximize sales of it.

I believe Heists are the cause of that along with NG and PC versions. Once all that is out of the way I'm sure we'll get more news.

Old gen still out numbers current gen by Ten to One. So which camp do you think has more potential to buy cash cards to buy all the new weapons clothes, and vehicles that come with each update? Old gen might not get all the same stuff as the new systems can handle more things, but to say Rockstar is going to abandoned the majority of their consumer base well that's just stupid. If anything they'll hold back on what they give the current gen players to avoid offending the old gen players.

Not for a while. When DLC does come out, Next gen might have more content than last gen due to hardware differences. Like maybe Rockstar decides to add an expansion map, but might be smaller or non-existent in last gen.

Hi BlackWolf, certainly not as players on PS3 and Xbox 360 can look forward to Online Heists and other updates that are in the works coming soon. We are incredibly thankful to our original generation of GTAV and GTA Online players on those systems and wish to continue providing content to them for as long as we can. Of course, at some point in the future, there may be a point where we reach the limits for the previous generation of consoles as there may be some updates that are only technically possible on the new hardware – but we do hope to continue delivering as many updates as we can for all four consoles for as long as possible.
