why do i have to share missions with other players?

every time i'm with my crew and are doing missions, we sometimes get separated from the group, or if we are 4 players and vote for a 6 player mission, we get stuck with other people (usually under 70 rank players who set the mission's difficulty to easy or normal) or kick some of my crew members out, and we gotta start all over. We also know since the last update how difficult and long it takes to invite crew members and friends to missions and now this happens. I'm not the one to complain but i'd very much like it if we just could do missions without having to deal with these problems.

Matchmaking is f*ckered right now and has been for a while. Just Kick people out and invite your friends if you are Host.

Idk about that Matthew. I could set any lobby I host to closed, rubber band my controller for 2 hours, and I guarantee you no randoms will appear.

but i assume i must set matchmaking to close every time a mission starts or only the first one is enough? also i guess i used to invite my crew first and then set it to close, any chance it could not work in that order? do i have to close it first and then invite them?

I'm going to give you a better option so that every time you host a lobby it will be set to closed as default. I'll give you a few easy steps.

1. Pause menu

2. Select the online tab

3. Select options

4. You should see matchmaking on the menu to the right

5. Set it to closed

6. No more randoms

Pause > online > options

Remain host after vote screen (or some sort of text along those lines) - change this setting to fit your need

Yes, before every mission you will have to change matchmaking to closed. It is best to do this immediately even before sending invites. There is a setting for this as well in the options menu but it doesn't seem to work consistently for me

The remain host option has worked though. Since I changed it I have not been merged with another lobby

ok Steve, i will try this and will get back to you with a feedback

No problem, just make sure if you're not hosting your crew mates follow these guidelines. Once it's set to closed no randoms can join via quick job, available job, or random job. Even if you are in a public lobby the invites won't be sent out. Just select crew members or friends on the menu options and invite who you want.
