Playing heists without a mic.

Recommended Posts

According to the Newswire, it is stated that heists will require "tight communication and coordination" to complete the job.

So, what would happen if players join a heist crew without a microphone? Would they be the "Claude" of the crew or would a mic be mandatory to even join them.

PS, I'm just asking this because my mic broke down and I don't want to be the reason why a heist job was screwed over.

few screenshot and heist trailer ( example where 2 online players dressing as police outfit )

is shown wearing a headset ( it could be meant for lester / jeff where they will guide you around , i don't know whetever it has microphone or not )

however , gestures is perfect for communication with mic-less player

Since heists aren't even out yet, not one single person can even vaguely answer your question with any certainty.

However, I won't do a heist with anyone who doesn't have a working headset.

You can pick up a decent mono headset for very little anyway, so there's no excuse.

lol i doubt not having a mic will be the reason you failed the hist

Do a rally race without a headset and see how much of a pain in the ass it is without voice com.

Big money is on the line in heists. For me I require everyone doing a heist with me to have a mic

I'm guessing there won't be any problem playing without a mic.

After a week or so when heists been out for a little while, people probably learned

how to complete the missions in the fastest way possible.

Love playing with some good people though.

I'm sure you can play Heists without mics. I never used a mic in my life and I probably never will. I have no desire whatsoever to talk to other gamers because a lot of them are racist, homophobic, misogynistic f*cktards.

Wow. Not only have you managed to miss out on properly coordinated game-play (not mention making friends, having laughs, and a load of other stuff) you've also managed to stereo type every gamer ever, including yourself!

I think it'd make things a little more difficult, but not impossible if you're at least semi-competent. Take Payday 2, it's not impossible to pull off a bank job or another heist without a mic, but vocal chat tends to offer a better quicker communication and offer tighter knit pull-offs. So you don't NEED a mic, but it'll likely make a heist much easier to do when you can tell each other where Partner A is or if Partner B is in a firefight than just assuming because the guy is micless.

But as I said, so long as you're at least semi-competent, you should be fine.

- Double Middle Finger = "Watch my back"

- Air Thrust = "Police incoming"

- Dock = "Shoot"

- Surrender = "Explosive"

- Air Guitar = "Hack the door"

- Wave hand = "Run!"

- Facepalm = "Heist bugged. We can't progress. f*ck R*"

Err, there are still mutes out there who have NO idea what they are doing.

I have a friend who has no mic and msgs me 10 times a minute who didn't even know that "select" brings up a menu to change your accessories/armor/snacks etc and he's a higher rank than me.

By being able to talk to people, he's missing out on real time communication.

You msg me in free mode, or on a job, I'm not stopping to type.

Everyone. Mics. Now.

I'll be doing heists with my friends, I don't play missions with randoms just on account they always "troll" or let everyone else do the work. It sucks cause made some friends with it. But heists I wanna do with people I can trust so can get the job done.

As for mics I doubt it's mandatory but would be a help if you did have one, unless you follow the lead from another player *shrug*

****, you can drive a car with your feet if you want to, that don't make it a good ******** idea! - Chris Rock

I got the mic and rarely use it unless it's completely necessary, it just distracts me in deathmatches for example.

I think having one will be a slight advantage in online heists but they will be perfectly playable without one. That's what screen prompts and instructions are for.

Mics would be better for Copd and Crooks for example if it was ever added.

Thanks *Takes a bow*

I've experienced all those things without a mic so I'm not missing out on anything.

I'll also stop saying that many gamers are racist, homophobic, misogynistic f*cktards when I can play GTA:O one day straight with everyone unmuted and not hear someone call me a nigga and tell me to go back to the kitchen because I use a female character
