How does stealth mode actually work?

Recommended Posts

It doesn't work in most missions. NPC enemys will shoot you regarless of how ninja like you are.

doesnt stealth hide your blip in DM's?? i dont DM much but im pretty certian its useless on NPC enemies, its aimed at PvP interactoins, if you run and make nosie your blip shows on minimap, but not if your sneak

One mission that works with stealth.

I like to use stealth mode but I wonder how exactly does it work?

Is there any time it wont work on the radar?

Stealth works in following situations:

— Couple of missions where enemies are separated. Thing is, you can pretty much accomplish the same result without stealth. On the missions, I think OP should ask for more input, because usually I'm not using stealth mode there;

— 1vs1 DM: your blip is hidden when you're in stealth mode and your stealth stat is max;

— DM/TDM/Capture unless some nice fellow will reveal everybody via Lester and you're using SUPRESSED weapons;

— Hiding from police in the bushes. Yes, it works, try this in missions when you need to get Cargobob from the base.

Also it's a nice way to smooth your movements with a sniper rifle when balancing on the edge of the building without messing with your controller sensitivity.

And don't forget that stealth mode does nothing in regular free roam mode: you're still visible to everybody.

If somebody is interested in more tips how to avoid cops, please keep me posted and we should create a separate thread for the FAQ.

It used to work in death matches, but then someone complained that they kept getting killed because they couldn't see the other players. Rockstar removed it because it was considered OP. The same person reported taking selfies whilst sat down in the barber's shop and the gate glitch. They're currently working on getting passive mode removed as they once died whilst playing in the non-competitive free roam and not paying attention.

They cri evertim.

It doesn't... I only use it as a pose for shooting but nothing else... if you're wearing sneakers and you approach a NPC with headphones in the middle of the night with the full bar they'll notice you.

So going into stealth mode in a deathmatch now no longer takes you off the radar? This is the first I've heard of this. I'm guessing you are only off the radar now then if you are in cover such as pressed up against a wall for example?

If you're in 'line of sight' you're on radar.

...the f*ck? The same person? Or the same type of person? I'm not really on here enough to know who's who.

In Ballas to the Wall and the other mission that takes place at Franklin's garage, I use to to sneak past the NPC's and climb the latter to the roof to have a better vantage point. I also used in in Master Data a few times, but I don't think it helped much.

Every time I use it, I haven't had problems.
