One Week Left to Get a Free Game When You Pre-Order the GTAV PC Digita

Recommended Posts

Desperate? Eh? They're just marketing, lol.

It f*cking took them long enough, honestly.

They didn't promote GTA V Console versions as crazy as this lol

Looks like they delayed it just to add proper marketing for PC version ?

It seems like it, at this point. Maybe it wasn't the sole reason, but probably one of them. Initially, I didn't think the late marketing was that fishy, considering how late the FPV mode got revealed (like 2 weeks before NG launch).

But I guess they want to give it some space for marketing now. Kinda surprised. They're tweeting about it, sending people emails. They even had the pre-order article as the "Top Story" a few days ago.

All of this would've been nice... about a few months ago. Nevertheless, I'm glad it's finally happening.

It does make you wonder, what is coming next....

By checking the Steam DB just before the pre-order went up, there were different tiers generated for pre-orders. Now, after Feb 1st that does tend to suggest there will be a different offer, but what?

Also, if we have already ordered, do we get the new offer as well? Previous Tier offers are awarded to current copy holders when they unlock, so I'd gamble yes on Steam, but what about the R* Warehouse?

We got the best tier already. It's only gonna go down hill from tier 1. If games are offering tiers which get better they normally have a goal chart underneath.

It's most likely done in tiers so the system can automatically take tier 1 down on the first of Feb or replace it with 2. Being the worse preorder.

But weren't the tiers just for setting different pricing for each region?

Not necessarily.... Exchange rate conversion systems already exist within Steam, so the pricing can be done by Steam itself, or manually, so the conversion rate is given and the company can 'adjust' that figure to a suitable nearby mark.

Considering the topic "Preordering Videogames", I actually advise to watch this video:

The basic message, if we apply it to GTA V, is: Are those 1 Mio. $ and the free game really worth it?

GTA V is already out, though. Everyone knows what it is. The only thing we need to worry about is how well the PC version runs at launch.

If you want to be cautious and wait, go right ahead. Noone's stopping you.

The same doesn't seem to be the case for people who just want to pre-order it and get it over with, however. Because those people get pretentious TB-echoes on their backs, telling them they'e "irresponsible consumers" or "part of the problem" for pre-ordering.

And in this case, it's a game that the person pre-ordering most probably KNOWS they'll either like or dislike based on what they've seen, since the thing has been out for almost two f*cking years now. Unless you're one of the rare people that just dodged every single bit of coverage on the game left and right.

So if we were talking about a new IP (or generally hyped release) that dumps pre-purchase offers on you, like Evolve, then I'd fully agree with that video. But this isn't that type of scenario. GTA V is coming to PC, after it's been out on two different generations of consoles. I'm pretty sure people know what to expect. If they can get some extra money in GTAO for pre-ordering, so be it. It's their decision, after all.

If you pre-order this game then you get whatever is coming to you.

aka a fun game that's great to develop stuff for? yeah

I swear people make up bullsh*t for fun.

Talk about being desperate XD

You have to actually subscribe to Rockstar's newsletter to get that email. It has absolutely nothing to do with "being desperate".
