Jimmy_Leppard
Hi, guys. I don't usually post around this subforum, but to be honest, in the last few months or so, my PC is gone over the line with the memory crap and I'd be very grateful if anyone could solve the problem I'm having or point me in the direction of solving it. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm using a 32-bit Windows 7, Service pack 1. My C drive space gets filled up ridiculously fast. I uninstalled a big program I had about 2 weeks ago (at most) because I had to free up space on that drive. When I did that, I had almost 10 GB of free space on my C drive. About 2 weeks passed since then and my C drive's capacity right now is a little under 2 GB. I haven't had this problem before and I have this computer for a couple of years already. I tried with disc cleanup, Spybot searches, emptying my cache on both Internet Explorer and Chrome cause I'm using both.. None of it works at all. After using the Internet Explorer for let's say 30 minutes, disk space on my C drive gets smaller by about 500 MB. It's crazy and definitely, something's off. Over 8 GB of memory in less than 2 weeks is absurd. Please, any kind of help is much appreciated, the faster the better. Thanks in advance. TheMcSame
These should help: http://www.howtogeek.com/125923/7-ways-to-free-up-hard-disk-space-on-windows/ I've also found that programs like CC cleaner don't handle the temp folder too well as they usually leave a lot of files alone in the folder so I'd recommend doing this: Search "%temp%" and delete everything in the folder (some files wont be deleted). If the files are "needed" then it wont let you delete them. It's good to clean this out every so often, I once left it alone for a while (can't remember how long) but it managed to grow to something like 30GB so if it's an old PC there could be a good chunk of data hiding away in there. I also believe you can delete the "Windows old" folder as well.
