Special Crates Drops (This Weekend?)

So I was in a session with a few friends before and got the notifications;

Special Crate in 10 hours

Special Crate in 5 hours

Special Crate in 3 hours etc

but when it come down to the time of it being inbound the notification never popped up!?!

Are there any actually dropping this weekend or was it a glitch

nope. nothing. i had two crates and they were just regular special crates.

They're just regular special crates. If there was new items in them, I'm pretty sure Rockstar would have announced it.

Regular special crates? never come across one of those before just regular crate drops and event weekend special crates. And Rockstars always behind with announcements, they didn't announce the Hipster or Independence update until like an hour after it'd been released

You guys should know by now that R* doesn't give ANY info out about anything, ever. They like keeping everyone on their toes.

I got one on Tuesday. Normal drop, 5000 Rp and $, minigun.

I figured nothing was in them. I just ignored them and let others kill each other over it

I don;'t bother with em most of the time but if they are near me i'll go pick it up...

 

It's 5000RP even though i'm a lvl 146 so don't really need any RP.

Special Crates are still part of the random event cycle if enough players are in the lobby but they will just

have the RP/GTA $ and the minigun.

 

I suspect the next event weekend with rare item in the crates will be Valentines Weekend.

I would like to think it would be new stuff however my "suspicion" at this stage is the Special Crate item might well

be the Gusenberg Sweeper as a chance for those who did not get it last year but I emphasize this is MY thought only

and could be well off the mark.

I'm guess the old masks will be in crates, probably old and new lingerie for the girls in the shop.

 

Expecting the Roosevelt plus a new car.
