I've been playing GTA V for a while now, I want to know how you change your players icon in game to the circle with the line through. I've noticed a lot of players do it and while it's like that you cannot be killed. Always bugs me not knowing. Thanks in advance

You mean passive mode? You do that by going to the interaction menu (holding select or the touchpad) and it'll bring up a menu, near the bottom it says passive mode.

Not 100% true. People can still kill you by running you over, and if you get in a vehicle people can shoot at you.

You're only invincible on-foot.

 

And, obviously, you can't use weapons in passive mode (unless you're in a vehicle)

On current gen (as far as I'm aware - not used it on CG yet) passive mode now turns you (and any vehicle you're in) into a ghost. In other words, passive mode is now ghost mode and you can not be killed, even in vehicles - nor can you be run over.

I'm not sure what CG (current generation) even is. I play the original on Xbox 360, and have never heard of such a thing.

If I had to guess, it's an update on the newer consoles - PC, xbox one, and ps4?

Not sure what you mean when you say OP, but that's how passive mode works on current gen consoles, although it doesn't make you invisible - just transparent.

All other players and their cars become ghosting kind of like non-contact racing.

 

You can't be killed at all even if you are in a car you won't be killed and you can be run over unlike on 360/PS3

It's passive mode.

 

People people are passive they can't be killed at all on PS4/XB1 but they can be killed by running them over, When they are in a car/plane/helo and if you spray them with a firehose but shooting them or throwing gernades/RPG at them will not kill them.

I see. I really hope they implement this on 360/ps3.

 

TBH passive mode is f*cking useless when you can still be camped by people waiting for you to get in a vehicle (or for an opportunity to run you over).

 

It's currently more like a "I'm a helpless target" mode.

That probably should've made it clear i was refering to PS3 when i was listing the ways they can still be killed, But i though when i said "they can't be killed at all on PS4/XB1" i though people would've understand the rest of what i was talking about is PS3
