@George: To keep realism we will keep the SA vehicles. Different cars in different cities is not realistic.

No, I meant from San Andreas to Liberty City and from San Andreas to Vice City. And I don't know about trains yet. I think this feature will be in the San Andreas version, and Vice City version shouldn't be too hard either...

Impressive sh*t. Impressive sh*t indeed Mc-Kay. I say you make Vice come to GTA3, for all those guys too poor to buy VC. But yes, quite nice I must say. It amazes me the most is that you fit Liberty City into Vice, which was a thing, for me, over impossibility. Nice work, man. Need some help feel free to PM me.

Just planning the SA side of things, getting a feel for the scale of the islands...

 

SA is 6000X6000 pixels

 

VC is 4000X4000 pixels

 

LC is linked to VC +added the 3000 pixels in width..

Mc kay im from Gta LVS team. We did not steal your name... we do not steal other peoples mods. A member of team(kaboom did once) and he got caught and kicked straight away. Please forget about the past, im pretty sure these mods will be different (layout, cars and so on) and I would like to wish you all the best with your mod wink.gif

Mc-Kay is lead mapper, and he has some personal stuff to figure out, and I don't have his files, nor do I know how to use them. But I am coding stuff, gameplay stuff. But don't worry, the mapping progress will soon be fast again, and we need to sort some problems and after that we can start with the San Andreas version, I think. And I also needed a little rest anyways. biggrin.gif But don't worry, we are not dead, far from dead.

Yes that will look good. My only request is that you place LC far away from Vice. New York and Miami aren't next to each other in real life.

Well, I'm woking since good 1 year on a 3DGamestudio projecte, called.........Liberty City Invader. It has: Liberty City, Vice City, and San Andreas, all on a new engine ( acknex). Around 1.5 months ago, I realized, I had to rebuild Liberty City, cause MDL Collision uses Bounding Box. So I build it in blocks, Compile it as a map, and use it as a map entity ( HL mappers could know what I mean ). Well, the part of Shoreside where the hospital is is complete, airport will be completed in about 1 week. SSV Road system is completed to 30% ( still needs texturing) If any of you don't know what 3DGamestudio is, check out www.3dgamestudio.com Pics are not available, but it has already reached PreAlpha state. I have a legal Version of A6 Standard, and this is a NON-Commercial project. Have a nice day

It's simple, you will move starfish and prawn islands to the north and south and hug together vice with shorter bridges. You will then insert liberty, possible moving it around a bot as the three chunks it is seen as from above, road tweak here, road tweak there. If you guys need help with buildings, roads, etc, on the extra island, I will help, especially if you supply pictures and texture packs ( even those ripped from the gta TXDs are ok).

 

edit: Also, you could make the beach much smaller on vice cities east. It can always be high tide wink.gif

 

Edit again: A quick edit and it fits with enough room for a 1/2 vice sized city:

i put in the mod following what it said in the read me an then it just loads half way then it crashes. can someone tell me how to fix it.

Teun, I haven't give up, i've had alot of personal problems to sort, but I'll be back on the team soon. (I speak to you online and let you know whats going on)

 

As for the crashing!!!!!, ummm!

 

(I noted on the first download as work in progress), Because there was some modders out there who wanted to see how much progress I had made.. (And could not wait until I could sort alot of bugs out first)

 

I released the mod to show that I had put LC into VC, the next Download that I will release soon (Sometime till the end of september) will be a working mod.

 

There is alot that needs fixing with Andy's Boundry patch too.

 

When Andy started on his own project, he made the patch that made this possible for us, (I give him alot of Credit) but there is alot of work still that needs to be worked out..

 

Becuase of the methods I used in moving LC into VC, I found stuff Andy may have overlooked.

 

I'm optimizing both islands soon to try and cut down on the amount of objects used, and remove as much as I can, without anything majer being missed.

 

I've changed the island layout, becuase when I dropped everything into SA.. I found that the scale and size of the islands is alot different.

Since i've been playing around with the 2dfx objects in the IDE files, i've had the loading bar runs almost to the end, before it crashes...

 

As for the patch..

 

It's not just the boundries patch, You need to use Steve M's limit adjuster too..

But there is still a problem with memory allocation and the allowed limit of 2dfx objects.

 

Even through i've made alot of progress in putting LC into VC, i've also overlooked stuff myself like the binary ipl's and making mistakes with the cull files.

 

And I still have to change the cords in the zon files.. not just for VC thats cords have been moved, but LC that has been added.

So you will have to export all the models from both games in SA format and then make a night time and day time model for each one. Good luck, it's gonna be hard work.

just to add, ive been working on a mass TXD/DFF converter, VC <-> SA

 

Dont expect to see this tool out anytime soon, (it's bug city and not stable) but i have managed to Convert SA txd/dffs and some ipls onto the VC engine so I can use moo mapper to make some majer changes.

 

To make life easlier for when I combine VC and LC.

This is cool and interesting too, but I'm going to say, we need to stay true to the original island format... Revamping buildings to bring LVC into the year 2006, via adding alot more cool stuff and a 3rd island..

We need to think of a new design for the third island.. this is where we need to focus, maybe also making alot of requests to other modders out there.. so we can combine there mods too.. (borrowing buildings from myriad islands with promission) and do something in Remembrance of Odie as part of the 3rd island.

I'd say put all those binary ipl's in the maps folders when possible, not that good of a coder and mapper, but hell, I'm the mission coder anyways. biggrin.gif Anyways, I will be looking around for some little mods to ask them to join us or permission to use those mods, full credit for the creators off course. smile.gif If you want your Liberty City modification, Vice City modification, or San Andreas modification to be in our mod, PM me or post here. We can use buildings and texture mods best, for now especially for Liberty City and Vice City. We hope some people are interested in this. biggrin.gif

Got the SA dodo in (thanks silver007 for the sa dodo) and a modification i put in which allows you to bomb and shoot with missiles with the dodo.

I'm working on the installer, but... let's just say it'll have a snowy appearce (stupid autoplay template). I'm going to ask cpumusik on which program his GTA Mod Installer used to modify the gta3.img, then I can go on with everything.
