The GTA3 peds exist from different part, but VC peds are one piece. But you can shoot off heads in VC so there must be a possibility for it, I'd like to see this back too. I dunno how the engine handles headshots, maybe it makes the head dummy so small it can't be seen? dontgetit.gif

@Keith: I used MS Excel to move the GTA: LC zones 1000X, and 4999.95Y. I'm gonna test them now. (I removed the VC zones) smile.gif

EDIT: Crash! Although they look OK in KEd. dontgetit.gif Is this an EXE error? Or is it the paths? I'm gonna delete more paths. smile.gif

EDIT: Adding the GXT entries doesn't work either. sad.gif

Because working on a game is difficult, you could have a single typo in a billion lines of code and it'll make the game explode like a nuclear blast. I will note that I had my game running with the paths, just the LC paths though, and of course nothing was spawning since they were out of the game area. I should try the original (which was over VC). Just wanted to say though I did have the game loaded.

 

I know the VC Path Limit is very close to being full in the stock game. I'd like to note another area of paths I could see being removed would be in the LC Paths, there's paths around one of the ships in the port? Un-needed, like people would be walking on a boat in a port, espcially in 2006. Jihad anyone?

@DS: I moved the GTA: LC zones and added entries in the GXT, but I got a crash. But this could also be because I had both path files in one with some paths deleted (not enough maybe). Could you test with my .ZON and .GXT files?

Upload the files to the FTP server, I'll check them out for you, I gotta update my SOL to the 2/28 update, then I'll test them. Working on the "Porter" style tunnel system atm.

Ok tested the files...

 

TEST 1: With all the files, caused the game to crash almost off the bat. Seemed like the game crashed when it would attempt to fade the area-name text off screen. Game would load, you'd be able to run around for a few seconds, then boom.

 

TEST 2: Removed the GXT, same effect, game crashes when attemptin to remove the area-name from the screen.

 

TEST 3: Removed Navig.ZON from the game. Game runs. Added the GXT back in, game runs.

 

So something with the navig.zon file seems to be wrong, at least by my assumtion, so of course the text fading part has no connection (to my knowledge).

 

Anyways, where are we on paths, who's trimming the fat?

I deleted paths of Tommy's Mansion and on the Airport. I could delete some more paths. smile.gif

EDIT: Goddammit, I get an access violation error deleting certain paths and now I can't open it up anymore, stupid f*ckup paths. Gonna try again. dozingoff.gif

The underwater intersection between US666 and NY99 that'll be south of the Liberty City Tunnel Entrance. The smaller tunnels seen in the picture are the tunnels that will be used for the NY Highway Routes, and are basically clones of the original Porter Tunnel. I couldn't really design anything better without taking alot of time, and I've always liked Porter Tunnel. The intersection as seen will be underwater, the roof will be "glassed" so you can see into the ocean. Anyways...

I'm back, but not for long because i'm heading to the UK end of the month, to sort some personel stuff out.

 

Now I've had no interested from any of the other networks (GTA) about hosting this mod, This could be a lack of interest, and having all those negative comments posted on here just as I started this project.

 

So what are we going to do?.

Well there is a solution. Those who actually want the mod can sign up for it. If it is less than say 100 I will create a generic location on either FTP or my site (Mind you if I put it on my site I have to be careful due to bandwidth) and allow downloads from there.

Ummm, I have an idea.

 

My department has a service, for all students in the department.That is, we have accounts that allows us to login to our session(including desktop, settings, personal files, etc...) They also allow you to publish your own website, located on your session.

 

Here's my point: I may can host it but there's a 300 Mb of quota and I need ~250 Mb of it definitely.I'll ask them if they can increase my quota and allow me to host a big file that big.

 

I'll inform when they reply.

GTAGarage.com will be able to host the files, its just a matter of deciding whether its best for us to host the file as one 250MB file or split it into 3 archives.

I say at least the size of Liberty city itself if not a bit larger. But then again with the additions that I am planing for VC maybe a bit larger

So I'll have to get my crayon outs again and plan some more.

 

I did want MML to look more like New York, but this city seems to be taking on a life of its own.

 

Looking at NYC maps I don't think I would want to rebuild all the city, besides there would need to be a lot of modelling, A sh*t load of new buildings.

 

If we can model some of those buildings (I need about 100), I might redo the city alittle.

 

Oh who wants a chocolate cake recipe.

Well i'm trying to work out a way we can rebuild NY, I know R* did an interesting downsized version given the map size they had.

 

But I think given what we have now, (51200X51200) map area, we can do alot more in detail.

Thinking about london, wow, but its hard to think about the size of NY, its massive.

 

Anyhow I need to find a better map to I can path out the roads and have a plan.
