I think that just making LC and VC larger is good but addind original content and new areas to explore is better.

I can't remember all the names of the areas in LC but adding sections to it like say Brooklyn and Queens wouldn't be a bad idea. Also changing the apearance of one of the bridges in LC to look like the Brooklyn bridge would be a nice touch as well.

In VC making the mainland area larger would be good but adding 2 new areas something like Tampa or Orlando would be good as well. Also I have begun remodeling the LC stadium to add into VC for the Vice City Mambas arena. I will get back in a bit with other things as well. Let me know what you think of these areas I suggested.

I have another radical idea, we could delete the LC traintracks and replace them with new ones which are connected to the VC ones, this would change the appearance quite some bit, and we have to make it run through SSV and SI too.

and ofcourse a station UNDER the ground

if the trains drive on a rail above the ground... wel

lets say it ruins Vice city's glamour

I'm assuming there is no bridges or roads going to LC, VC or the other islands at this time, at least from what I've read and talked about with Mc-Kay, but reading the last couple of posts, had a vision...

 

A chunnel like system which would mean a massive tunnel tube. Split in half it would be half highway and half railway, and a ped-walkway squeezed in between the two. Connect it with the LC Roadtunnels, Above-Ground Railway and Subway.

 

Run the tube-tunnel from LC along the bottom of the seabed or underneath it. Since there are more islands than LC and VC, somewhere near the center of them all I'd build a man-made island type structure which brings the rails and highway out of the tube and back above ground. From here it would be a massive traffic circle (perfect circle) with branching off to all islands. Other islands could use bridges and other over or under the water traffic ways, for Vice City I'd stick to the chunnel.

 

Place at least four stations / exits in Vice City at either end of each island, either replace a building somewhere on the island or attach them to the end of each island.

Deathsquad I hear ya buddy, and I like those ideas, but for them to work I might need to reposition some islands, So they can be joined up more easier.

 

Tired as I am, i've been up all night working on the docks for Mainland liberty.

what about bullet wounds?

Like when u get shot they appear

and when u like restore ur health

then they would dissappear.

I'd leave the islands in their position, must be a pain to move them around along with any else related to their positions. Instead of a chunnel could do a more simple bridge network, road & rail. Use a tunnel system for Vice to keep the skyline pretty.

I think we should call Liberty City and Mainland Liberty together the Liberty State (State of Liberty) and Vice City should be Vice City + GTA Rally Island (+ Speed Island and Fun Island?) in which the Rally Island and Speed/Fun Island should be called the VC Sports Themepark or something, I think GTA Rally Island sounds kinda lame. blush.gif I will be working on my ideas for Libertu City as soon as I get my hands on Liberty City/GTA 3, anything which contains the files I can work with. Then I will delete the complete railtracks (I will back them up off course) and place new ones all around LC, and I'm gonna change Chinatown. I also want to request something Keith, is it possible for me to get a mission coding topic of some kind on the website, I could use some help with random things later. Also, when we get LC and Mainland Liberty in, we could use paths. I'm gonna try to get my hands on GTA3 soon, so I can mod LC. smile.gif Good night to y'all. sleepy.gif

@ DeathSquad actually an interstate system would be more appropriate since there are no tunnels

or underground systems in ahem miami Placing the interstate at the northern tip of the island

would be better. I should just get some pictures of I-95 which is the actuall interstate that travels

through Miami. Anyway thats just my suggestion.

hey i'm just wondering if theres anything i can do to help speed this mod up. i've not got much experiance in modding but I can help out in other ways. i don't have much free time but would like to put it into this mod to help speed it up.

OK, I have another idea for LC, and I'm gonna make these things as soon as I get my hands on GTA3. Wizard, can you help me with the COL files when I get the models done? Or anybody else? I will test the models in GTA3. biggrin.gif I hope I don't see the train running on a non-existing track. I'm planning on connecting the road near the Portland hideout to Staunton, so you don't have to go to the bridge or tunnel. Is removing the Callahan Bridge to extreme. Just kidding here, no way the Callahan Bridge is getting dumped. biggrin.gif I will be making some missions when I have the time. But this will be hard, since for this I have some crazy ideas which are hard to make real.

 

EDIT: Yay, a mate of mine still had GTA3 lying around, time to mod! biggrin.gif

EDIT2: Goddammit! Moomapper doesn't show any textures, I'm gonna try MEd.

EDIT3: MEd shows the textures, I changed stuff, but it crashes, I guess it's all the hardcoded sh*t that f*cks it up for me. I sure hope it doesn't hate texture changes, cause I'm gonna work on them soon. MEd I think makes it easy to change textures.

 

Keith, I have another idea! Why don't we put the bank from the GTA3 intro cutscene on Mainland Liberty, that way it'll get a spot too. Dinner time...

 

EDIT4: I'm starting to hate GTA3, in an modder's point of view. I can't test anything as of now. So I will be doing texture jobs soon, but for now, just placing/deleting stuff. I will then hand over the IPL's to Keith so he can test them in SOL (if he has the time off course).

The bank from the cut scene from GTA3 is done already just needs textures. Col is completed as well

I just have to finish the aley way and that will be done. I can make the cols for you as well if you like.

Currently I am making a new Stadium for VC the structure itself is 80% done the next thing

that has to be done are the textures on it. Make sure you have the latest version of MEd it is more stable than earlier

versions.

All buildings you can make will be for mainland lib, check page 1 for what buildings that are needed, I also have alot of buildings now with nothing under them, so I need peaces of land to go under them, Add me to your msn.

Other people do and so do we... Anyways, I removed the Portland rails, and the game crashes, as I expected. Now I need to make new ones around whole Liberty City... Sigh, that'll take a while I think. And as for Chinatown, it has many textures referring to a China theme, so those are gonna be changed. But there are some buildings too, which I'm thinking of replacing too make it look more like the Leone's took over. smile.gif I will be working on this to get it right.

 

EDIT: I think when I get the right coordinates and stuff, I will make a little intro scene with SCM... Not sure though.

I've uploaded the team review mod to Wiz's server, remember if you make any changes, share them around.

 

if you add anything to the gta3.img file, make sure others get those changes too.
