Textures are a pain in the arse I have yet to make a model that has a complete one.

I can make cols. easier than I can make textures. I am just at a loss when it comes to the damn

textures. Anyone have any suggestions? This can't be an issue and it has to be solved asap well

as far as I am concerned anyway tounge.gif

 

Currently working on new building and trying to finalize the ones that are complete will post pics

over the weekend.

Downloaded the file and checked it out, now I would assume as a Zmod user that Zmod would load the item up with texture, cause its a DFF after all. Yet I loaded it both in Zmod and Zmo2 and it has no texture, and of course when loaded into the game map, has no texture. I don't know how 3ds works but if there is anything that might prevent the textures from saving, I'd check that out. Also I'm unsure if it would matter but I noticed when I loaded the TXD into the TXD Studio, the tab for game version says GTA3, unsure if that would matter either.

 

I'm assuming this is a chunk from Liberty (aka the Commerical Section), cause I can probably texture it assuming its just a grass area.

Uhm, Mc-Kay, you didn't say you textured it in 3dsmax in your description, I don't think you're that stupid, but you might wanna check if you did? dontgetit.gif

If I can get the complete working package, I'm gonna try to turn the Triad territory (Chinatown) into an expansion of the Leone's territory. So that means texture changes, new parked car locations, and when we can get the paths in, maybe make that whole zone crawling with mafiosi's. smile.gif I really hope to finish that little project because I wasn't able to finish some models/textures for this mod earlier. smile.gif

I've tried it both ways (Make my own and use a game object), the models I gave deathsquad where originally from GTA3.

 

Now when you edit the dff file (Using kams script, in 3dsMax), You seem to loss all the information about the texture that was linked it to that object.

 

You try it, take a dff from any version of the game, and cut something of it, don't take much, then save it as the same dff.

 

Your see.

 

Now when I created the object from scratch I had almost the same problem, so there is something im missing?

From what I've read I understand you didn't texture your model in Max. You've exported an untextured model.

Your IDE tells the game to load which dff and txd. But if your textures in your txd weren't assigned to your model in the first place, then of course it's going to show up untextured in game.

OK, At the risk of sounding off (Rotten or Wrong),

 

I would like to finish this project first before I go releasing stuff early (You can read why within this thread).

 

This means we get any help there is out there, we need good modellers on this team (As we have none)

 

its SOL ME, so I would like you to join us, You can do your map aslong as we can use it with in our map plan.

 

We have VC, LC, MLL, SA and 3 other islands being made.

I will say this, There is way to many teams working on the VC and LC, SA thing. (Related projects)

 

I've counted 15 teams, all doing the same thing (well almost)

 

I will only help those, who will help us from this point on, todo with this kind of mod, This doesnt mean I will stop helping those with general modding.

 

I've been stabbed in the back way to many times over this kind of mod and sometimes wish I never started this project.

 

Sure we all have our mods to do, but is there any harm in helping each other or working together, because people have a habbit of starting a big projects and never finishing.

 

I want to finish this, before I release anything else, I have legel reasons too, asfar as the exe goes.

 

If we all worked together we could all do something better and faster.

Just to let you know, Windy City isnt the name of the City from Mafia.. It is "City of Lost Heaven". I just wanted to say that.

mate, ive been on for sometime.. pic look good.

 

I've been spending all day tracking a bug, In devconsole, the last line reads.

 

dtn_hospital_fence.

 

Crashing like it does in mid game, given thats the last file shown isnt helpful.

 

Other then that, still working on Mainlandlib, thinking of a name change for it.

Hmm, still dont know what you are saying.

But i think you want to trade?

Here is what we ofer:

Maga texture pack: 3863 Textures.

Mafia Models: (dunno how many, but much).

Mafia Textures: about +4500 textures.

Handy prog: A mass texture resizer/extentioner (for use for the Mafia textures).

 

Do you want to trade it against youre Engine? (btw, youre engine, can you play online with it already?)

 

(only Mckay may anwser this, thQ.)

Ummm, weird..

 

I wasn't thinking of trading?, even through the objects and textures would help here since I have noone to make them.

 

Let me botton line it for you.

 

Someone offered me SA road textures for VC and LC, aslong as I did something big in return.

 

It's about do the right thing.

 

I told them where to go, because I don't do business like that.

 

This is a mod work in progress. nothing more, and i'm not going to trade everything i've done.

 

 

 

This is the way I work, I suggest we help each other towards our goals, exchange ideas and such like.

 

That is what this modding communities about.

 

The engine as it stands is coming, but it's far from finished, and nowhere near ready for the kind of gameplay you would expect from SA.

 

As I've stated before in this thread, I also use a highly edited exe, which does the job for now asfar as the map size and ID limits.

I've got some new ideas for the mod, given alot of feedback i've had.

 

I wish I could hold a poll here, because this could be a turning point in the mod

to weather I go one way or the other.

 

This doesn't mean im going to change things again, but this could be on my todo list for a future mod.

 

So:

 

1. Should I keep LC and VC as it is, given the rest of the new Islands.

 

2. Should I totally replace them with a much bigger island (Miami, FL) and (New York + Manhatton) because of the size of mainland liberty island, havng all the other new islands joined up.

i thought san andreas liberty and vice were going to be in this mod all three or just liberty and vice

would be fine with me aslong there would be missions ya know.

But anyway u guys keep up the good work i guess i need to buy vice

because i lost both cds so i have a no-cd cause im really

looking forward to this mod. keep on keepin on!
