I was looking into Trilogy on SA since Monday. Not getting very far.

 

One thing that is painfully clear is that is your using Kams scripts to convert anything you don't have a hope in hell because some of the models become unusable (buggy with any manner of issues down to alpha channel corruption). There isn't a way with the SA engine to debug down to what model is crashing the engine where with VC engine you can easily.

 

There needs to be a way to see what file (tinyhouse01.dff) is being loaded on the loading screen and a scroll object list in left top corner on the game screen itself.

 

This will save a lot of time when getting new content to work on SA.

 

We need a coder to make this possible.

How did you find that one out :O (about Kams scripts)

As for the script that shows whats loaded, I'm not your guy.

I am interested in using that script.

The problems with Kams is well known throughout the community whether accepted or ignored no-one sees it fit to replace these aging scripts because people just get by and know the bugs.

 

I was talking to TreeDoomer, Author of Gims scripts about this issue where he sees RW modding an age gone by like us going back to XP and doesn't see it worth his time.

 

We are not going to see these scripts replaced at all sadly anytime soon unless one of us steps up and does the work. I do not see RW modding as dead as others might suggest nor do I have the time myself to do this type of work.

 

I have modded a lot of games in the past, but I am tired or spreading the message that modding is about bring new life into old games, RW is still a good platform to mod on for those who want to get a foot hold into modding.

 

However the way things are now. it's hard for anyone new to get into GTA modding.

 

There are lot of other games out there easier to mod. Unless your able to drive into Rage where documentation doesn't exist for Gims.

Straight convertion from VC/LC to SA make really not much sence. After converting the map there is still a lot of improovement on the map to do to fit the SA engine. The best LC&VC map to SA convertion, I know, is still United. Unfortunately it looks to be not posible to use the United map in the mod, because of some license stuff.

Im not using United, Im using OpenVice. I am able to mod these files easily.

I know, that you are using OpenVice and not United. But about mod these files easily I have my doubts, as this is really hard worck.

I've already spotted some bugs that caused some crashes; bugged objects, now VC is working for over 50%. Too bad the collision glitches outside the map bounds.

I am just new at this forum,i had added your sol rail track in gta vice city sucessfully and open the game and load the game then the game crash but ked mapper show fine in map.help me....

I need to update that mod, as SOL has changed, 69.5 version only and not default VC. unless you know how to change object ID's in default VC.

ok heres something I have been planning for a while but havnt found the right voice for yet... Its still in rough Planning but I will clean it up and eventually finalize the track list... its a nod to one of the greatest games of all time ;)

well, we are trying to keep from using copyrighted material in this mod, to avoid legalities...

 

I was able to get a couple of artists permissions personally... heres one of my most recent ones
