There are 2 ways I could show people how to models, that's using peaces (primitive shapes) or tweaking a mash 100x100 units.

The game is called 'Gangstar: Miami VIndication' it's a GTA Clone for the iOS and Android.

I think the biggest town in the area labeled "midwest" should be at least twice the size of Fort Carson

 

Also cause the rivers start from mountains some sort of running water would be needed

 

That's a pretty good map m8, If I was to brake the SA map up into LA, SF and LV where would these be?

 

 

LS would be in that bay near the mountain. I think it should be connected and not a island.

SF would be at that small peninsula next to the bay

LV should be north of SF, but only bone county should have sea access and LV should be inland but not too far from the coast

 

Also, the Chicago based city could be named Argandbent or New Dover

 

Chicago based city is called Midway though...

Don't forget to make the buildings look GTA SA style. And maybe Manhunt stuff should be less destroyed to fit?

@Ss4gogeta0 - Trilogy will only have converted maps that are known in the GTA universe (no conversions from other publishers). Yes I'll look into converting models from Manhunt 2 & hopefully Bully (not a priority right now). Vice City & Liberty City already uses SA's generic objects, while working on this I always have to bear in mind about IDs.

 

@Avskygod0 - At the moment the Manhunt levels are being converted as they are in Manhunt as once finished they will be released by themselves for the public to use them as they please. Once I start fitting the Manhunt levels on to the map, I will try my best to make it fit in SA style.

I would have thought Rockstar would of had an issue with any kind of GTA clone.

 

I do remember on the Commodore Amiga 500 there was a game by DMA / Take 2 (I can't think of the title) that resembled GTA 1, May have well been the concept and birth of GTA on the PS One.

I've had a look and it really looks good and I've got some ideas on how to sort the model fading over bounds issue. Ie. treating objects like generics objects.

 

Not sure I like the plane idea from the start of game because crashed the first time into a building and you can't recover from this the first time you die. This needs to be sorted.

 

Bringing this into line with SOL map version 5 is the way to go I think because we want to keep this map original and the layout works best when I did the same on the SA engine.

 

Sacky's LA2 bounds have been changed to there MAX limits, The engine limits that can not yet be broken like the ID limit.

 

We need to think about a SA Dev Console like the VC version because when the engine crashes you can't see what was last loaded.

Also have to remember that there are some objects in VC and LC that share the same object names so we can't have the same model name used twice. I need to remap all the objects ID's to match map version 5's layout too.

 

Here is the new LA limits. I've made notes too here.

Oh wow thanks for that! Also useful for anyone else who have been for years asking for maxed out limits for SALA. I was going to look into that generic possibility so hopefully your idea will work. A few things from me (I could be wrong with some of them though):

 

IPL Files= 512 - Only enabled as I wanted to add in Alcatraz Island to have a look, forgot to disable it. Didn't make a difference as you mentioned above it was crashing due to #Buildings limit (which is more than enough right now)

ColModels=19999 - Matching it with Static limit? Now that might fix the problem as while the game can load with SA/VC/LC (bits of it)/CC and you can play, going to the newly added map will freeze the game. Combining .cols again did the trick but this hopefully will solve it.

Polygons= 5000 - Just helps with loading high poly models (or many models on screens like hq peds). Hopefully Trilogy/SOL won't ever need to increase this but it works.

Stream Memory= 2048 - SA can only use max 2048 MB (guessing VC is the same?). No difference really compared to 1024 MB so might as well change it to that.

LOD Distance= 600 - It's the distance for objects that has a collision. Can be ignored due to IDE_Tweaker & binthesky.cs

 

Yeah the spawning with plane is only temporary. (taken from steve-m's clean main.scm) I need to sometime look through the default main.scm and delete/change any references to lods (as it gives a black screen when first cutscene starts)

 

But moving SA from its default coordinates is just gonna give more problems to solve/fix (paths don't work outside the bounds for one). I am still inclined to keep SA where it is and move the rest of the maps according to SOL's map version 5 layout. When starting this mod, my number one rule is keep SA as default as it can be, Trilogy can be considered as a 'add-on' than a complete replacement. What does everyone else think about moving SA?

 

SA dev tool is a great idea, at the moment SALA is good enough as that can tell you what file was last loaded. (I admit it does lie a lot, so guessing is the second alternative as well! :lol:)

Ahh I really like this map, I'm taking a piccy of that I have there right now and I will post this soon.

I think this is very possible, I can give it a try. :)

That is an amazing map. I got to say, I love it. The city on the west side could be based off Tampa, or Orlando. Also, to the north east, you could even have a parody of the Kennedy Space Center.

 

Also about joining to help with Midway/Chicago. I'll let you know now, I've never modeled before in my life. Only thing that comes close to using a modeling program was when I was fixing the exterior of Bahama Mammas, and that really isn't moddeling as I was fixing shaders. But I can help you lay out the buildings, so they are in their general locations that they are in real life, rather than scattered around. It may be possible to use sketch up models to reduce the amount of work, especially sense you aren't doing a HD remake. Though I do hope to have an HD version on GTA IV or GTA V in the future.

I wouldn't say that the 3rd part is a ''city''. I believe it might be the 3rd borough of Vice City which was never seen at all in VC/VCS. Anyway, let's think about a name for it. I vote for Miramire. Why? Because a district in GTA1 in VC was named like this.

Oh, oh oh. Yeah, for the vehicles having different generations, why not just use the latest iterations chronologically? This takes place in 2002, nobody drives a 80's Perennial anymore. What i'm saying is use all the GTA3 cars and for the cars from previous games not in GTA3 simply create a new car(like the guy did with Picador) that would be the current generation of that car

Yeah, I like where you're going here, maybe cars like the Perennial, Idaho, Glendale etc. should appear very rarely to add effects of a realistic traffic stream.

 

 

 

Oh and by 80's Perennial i mean the VC peren

Hey guys! I have been thinking in this project for so long (maybe 2 years) but I never dared to start it because I thought there was people who had already done.

Currently, even though it is already 2014, never too late to show y'all the "Original Radio Stations" Project. This project aims to bring together the best radio stations of the GTA history, all-in-one game (GTA VC: State of Liberty).

And so then I've taken the trouble to preselect 25 of the best radio stations of GTA. It must be stressed that GTA VC, unfortunately, only has 9 slots for radio stations.
The goal is to make top 9 of your favorite radio stations to put them in the final project.

I posted recently in another topic about having a separate installer to get all of the radio stations into SOL. Maybe even loading custom stations to the game. Although I don't have the knowledge of creating an installer. (I would love to make one, if only I could :/ Maybe I'll look into that sometime)

Someone mentioned in the forum that it IS possible to add more stations than the game originally has. If that's the case, we could possibly have all of the radio stations in the mod (including GTA 3, VC, SA, LCS, VCS.) THAT would be amazing.

I see a few stations from other games on your list. I think SOL is trying to stay within the GTA 3 era, so I think having stations from any game beyond that wouldn't be as fitting to this mod. (But I do respect your appreciation for other GTA games and radio :colgate: half the fun of playing GTA and driving is the radio)

I'm actually in the process of converting all stations (GTA 3, VC, SA, LCS, VCS) from PS2/PC game files to mp3 as a personal project. Each station in SA is not just a single audio track like the previous games. So I'm creating new SA stations from all of the radio and advertisement files. It's taking a lot longer than I expected but well worth it.

@Ss4gogeta0 - Don't worry, at least I as well others now know what maximum limits SALA can be set to which is useful. Other news the game will now almost run with VC, LC without SALA. (need to try and add Entry Exits limit and hopefully map bounds) Game uses ThirteenAG's & Link/2012's limit_adjuster_gta3vcsa.asi & a slightly modified version of Ryosuke's MapLimit.asi (modified to work together with ThirteenAG's limit adjuster, so it now includes IDE and Collision Models limits)

 

@mnmn1234 - At the moment? Right in the middle of SA. Future? Will be up north of Liberty City in Upstate Liberty.

 

Also I changed my mind and will use SALA's LOD Distance limit instead of IDE_DD_Tweaker, so I can set individual Draw Distances for each model instead of having everything (little generic boxes to LA skyscrapers) set at 1500!

That looks nice! How about Cottonmouth from Manhunt 2? By the way, I would rather like to see that mod in GTA VC format.

Just asking, are you going to add some sick Drum and Bass to Funami FM? Like in GTA2? :)

of course, I'm just trying to get someone whose asian to fo the voice (for authenticity) been talking to rissa about it, she might do it when she's not busy with work (she designs websites and does animation)

hmm... the thing about rissa is that she likes me... I like her aswell, and you know how things go when you have feelings get in the middle of business... and then theres the other person ive had feelings for since I was like 16... shes back in my life... damn it... soo many complications...

 

 

anyway I need someone to do the Coffee House Conundrum voice so that I can release it, I got all the tracks ready and I just need someone to do it... (kinda like how radio broker was done in IV, Coffeehouse is a jazz station now)

Alright, yea Ryosukes tools are pretty decent, its too bad he dissapeared long ago....

 

anyway, as for the SA version, I was thinking that you can set some of the different Ped definitions in the pedcycle (like Clubbers/Desert/etc) and define them as both Liberty city peds and Vice city peds respectively... I think it would work ;)

well if you play GTA United then you would notice that there are both GTA III, VC, and SA radio stations in the game (Broken Radio Limit) and that there is an installer for the III/VC radio stations (Adds them Ingame)

...And has the team ever thought of having Bullworth here? It's such a good town.

Now this would be a great idea. For an added "extra", you could place the Kart in one of the garages next to the abandoned school bus, mimicking the Go Kart that Jimmy makes in Shop class gets after winning the Go Kart events (my bad). Or have that same garage as a place to store vehicles.

I've played GTA United. I kind of wanted to do something similar. But United doesn't include adding stations from Liberty City Stories or Vice City Stories. I get a lot of glitches with other audio and sfx when the stations are added. Sfx sometimes completely unheard (just with my experience using it). It works fine before anything is added. The radio huds are kind of cool.

 

My goal would be to have LCS and VCS in addition to the others on the VC engine. I might want to go with the original radio huds with text and add the radio logos to the menu. (United only has SA stations to select in the menu.) Then do the same for the SA engine.

I've not played other take 2 related games but the maps do look interesting. I can not convert these maps directly because it's another games property not Rockstars and also go against GTAF's board rules.

 

I do have an idea for those cities where I could use a like for like map plan but with our own buildings.

Radio Broker? It isn't a jazz station :p Anyways, I'm gonna do my Keytastrophe 99.5 station now, some chillout tunes from Mario's Keytastrophe will be perfect for the mix :) By the way, I don't really know how it is for someone to love you, I never had a girlfriend :/
