By any chance, will it be possible to use your VC models in VC Mobile for GTA III Tenth Anniversary?

The original models won't fit in GTA III's ID limit, and as your lowering down VC's ID limit, it might just fit in III's ID limit. We can't hack the ID limit because we are on mobile devices, not PC.

 

Of coarse, we might have to move VC back to its original cords though. (Map all together is still in the same spot, but the cords are different because models are combined.)

You will receive credit.

 

 

You might want to wait for the next release.

 

SOL VC will be using 2560 objects, 7 Lods, 130 Generic objects.

 

This will easily fit on Android however this could be counter productive as R will be releasing VC next year.

 

But by any means you can use the files and yes the Android GTA3 binary can be reversed by adding .SO hooks (just like .Dll for Windows)

How do you mean make the character fly?

 

Can I see some pictures? post them using imageshack or some other image hosting site.

it must have just been a one time thing, i've just tried it again then, and i didn't get it, instead of walking it was just making him constantly jump.

I'll need it to work on IOS too. I don't have Android, but if it will work on Android with out limit hacks, than it will work on IOS too.

 

We might wait till VC's Tenth Anniversary. If it isn't announced than we'll continue. However if it is announced it would be kinda funny to post screen shots of it in the VC Tenth Anniversary threads so people who don't mod think for a second that you some how got the app early.

I've been testing models here and there and I plan to start adding the newer islands of SOL.

 

These will be remodeled versions of Midway, Mainland Liberty and then I will add VC, LC and SA.

 

But I am really waiting to see how GTAV's models and engine compare to GTAIV.

 

I will need to modify the map bounds 120.000 X/Y and not 6000 X/Y this is where I am going to be putting my time after I have some objects on Rage.

Well, there is a chance that when GTA V is out and moddable you might be able to fit the SOL map in its bounds. However I will say that for the SOL Next Gen, you will need to hack the map bounds. I'm sure GTA V's map bounds won't be able to hold the GTA V map and IV's LC. Plus you may want them a good distance apart.

 

NOTE: I underlined "out and moddable" because every time I mention GTA V modding, someone says I shouldn't be worried about modding a game that isn't out. I will say the game will come out and because GTA is popular people will beat the game, and want to research how it works, and see what they can do with it.

I'm looking for a new host and now days this is not easy.

Put the file in your 'Public' folder in Dropbox and then you right click on the .RAR and click 'DropBox > Get Public Link', you can then post that link around the internet and anyone can download it.

How about torrents? You could upload it to mininova.org which doesn't support piracy, it would be better than nothing.

So basically, all the links are dead? That's shame, but if you need a file hosting service, you might want to try with File Dropper... Not sure how reliable their service is, but they have a 5GB limit.

News:

 

Where is SOL beta 69.5? I pulled this version from the net as there was some major bugs. However I am going to release this again soon on VC, SA and smart phones. This map will be final but development will still continue in the way of bug fixes.

 

After working on this for 8 years it's time to move on to something new.

 

To get this version out quickly I am dropping the LODs once again as I do not have time to recreate them all because I want to move onto the next stage of the Project.

 

I am not expecting this version to be used online so those worrying about FPS drops have no reason to worry because your only be entering the game as a single player.

 

I have started creating a new map for Rage engine Beta 70.X or 0.X with quality models and this will add a new dimension with new challenges to over come like limits.

 

I was thinking about re-branding the project under a new name in the hope this will win back interest where 6 to 7 years ago I had a strong team and supporters.

 

This part of the project will divert from the original idea of just having LC, VC and SA, instead we will have a new map modelled (based on LC, VC and SA) from scratch pretty much like the Myriad Islands concept.

 

I will post more updates when I have time and I hope to get beta 69.9 with time permitting out before Christmas.

 

That is all for now and I would welcome your comments.

That I am a crap modder/ modeler OR that I am working alone on it.

 

Sometimes it is better to get the ground work in and plan it out before people start to help.

Is there a version available with swimming yet? And like I said before the final release you should try getting a monorail/ train system that connects all the cities biggrin.gif and working airports, fairies and other forms of public transport that would too everything I think smile.gif

I am working on this alone my friends and there is not much I can do about it.

 

The team I had before have other commitments like I do, Ie Work, College or just do not have time to lead a hand. Look at the information page.

 

Trains, Plains and Airports, I need someone who can SCM code once again because my time is taken getting the map ready, fixing the EXE launcher.

 

The next version I hope to get out around Christmas based on version 69.5 with some fixes time permitting of course.

With the news that Rockstar are releasing Vice City 10th anniversary to iOS and Android I have decided to hold off on the Mobile version of SOL.

I am getting a lot of Pm's asking is the mod cancelled. No! the mod is still alive. I am fixing a lot of map bugs and remodeling Midway and Mainland liberty so things are going to take a long time, in the meantime I will upload the older version today on GTAG,

I'm glad this is still going and reading through the recent updates, i hope this is a really good mod!

 

I'd love to be able to travel between the 4 regions (SA, VC, LC and ML), it's just amazing that thought could actually come true on such an old game engine. Amazing achievement!

Just wondering, will you fix the radar for all the cities and add the map when you pause?

The mod is still alive.

 

Process is slow but coming on nicely.

 

Radar is 90& done. there is no mini map on the game menu and this may remain unfinished on the next release because I am having trouble editing the map and I have so much to do with modeling the main map, time is against me as I working on the mod with set targets.

 

Water and Peds are done too as a lot of this work was there with the Merge and Split of VCO. how ever I do plan to get some some Online features working later on for VC and SA engines.
