Is GTA IV for PC abandoned?

... why would patches massively change the game at all? Even more so, what would still need patching? The game works fine, and the 'optimization' can not be changed without completely remaking the world or using Mantle/D3D12/NV_command_list.

I wouldn't expect any patches to do much (besides patching bugs that still never got patched), but the patch that they'd actually be given kudos for doing is replacing Ebola For Windows Live with RGSC or something for the multiplayer servers. Sure everyone would have to start over on their characters, but it's not like you actually unlock anything besides new clothing options anyway. EFWL is an abysmal, broken mess of a system.

The game doest need any fixes or patches IMO, it works well (at least for me). the last fixes it needed (including EFLC) were all sorted out in the last update.

Ah, so since the game works fine for you, that means no one else experiencing issues is relevant. Classic vidya gaem forum logic.

It just means that we don't care about the issues you're/others are experiencing, tough sh*t.

The game works fine for me, I would say the game needs that one last patch, but it's alright.

Well what can I tell you, like I said, the game works fine for me (could be better optimized though but I believe that couldnt be fixed with just a patch). I cant speak for the rest of the people because I dont know how the game works for the majority of them, no one does, so doing it would be selfish on my part, hence I said 'IMO'.

A silly question:

It is possible to disable GTA4's physics engine and if disable it will have any difference in game performance?

It works fine but it still runs like complete ass.

IV is 7 years old. Would you also expect patches for SA? Maybe GTA II as well.

Hey, GTA 2 is awesome. The only patch it ever needed was Windows 7/Vista/XP fix, so you can play it on newer systems. :inlove:

Not-technically speaking you could say it's a good game if you have the right PC to play it.
but going by the other side of the spectrum it is really a bad port that R* never gave a proper optimization or maybe really never cared much about.

You can disable euphoria, however it does not give any FPS boost at all. I think it's a matter of how the objects/map is loaded, because if you mod your game with some lower quality map (such as San Andreas map) the FPS is ridiculously higher. At least for me
