How many DVDs will be in the box

Since consoles use a single Blu-Ray disc for GTA V, including the last gen PlayStation 3, how many DVD discs will the PC version be on? Since most PCs don't have Blu-Ray drives. The game has to be around 50GB or more in size.

A few discs for sure, but we'll have to wait for confirmation on the exact amount.

I don't know how many discs there will be. I suppose there could be a physical and digital hybrid of the game. There could be a substantial portion of the game you need to download.

I still prefer the look, smell, and feel of the CD/DVD's, case, and paper materials.

With PC games becoming bigger in file size, honestly i cannot understand why they are not taking advantage of using blu ray discs instead . Blue ray drives can be bought for under $100 these days

Possibly not many people have them yet. I'm looking into installing one in my rig.

New-gen games are around 50 GB, but GTA V isn't a new-gen game, steroid grass or not.

 

Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition (a new-gen re-release similar to GTA V) is about 18 GB vs the 16 GB the normal version takes up with the High Res DLC.

I ain't buying a physical copy, you'll have to wait until your copy arrives while on Steam you just pre-load it and start the game the moment it unlocks.

It's not going to be 50gb of raw files slapped onto a dvd. It'll be compressed. So no, we're not going to be getting 6-9 DVDs in one case.

Physical disc for me. That being said, I think it will be 6-7 DVDs. And a side note: I AM AGAINST THE DRM POLICIES AND IN NO WAY READY TO SUPPORT THEM. That's why I buy physical game and ****** them. I don't care about online.

Dude are you for real? PS4 version is 46 gb download and takes up to 55 gb on HDD. And you expect 2-3 DVD's? Lmao

We are discussing about GTA here. Even Max Payne 3 shipped on 4 DVD's. And it's considerably smaller in size as compared to GTA V. I'm betting on 6 DVD's.

Same here. Though ironically, downloading at such high speeds actually puts more stress on my CPU than installing from a physical disc.

That's because BD-XL drives and discs are still very expensive and it doesn't make sense to release game on more than 1 Bluray disc while you need for example 2 of 50 GB.
