I found something error with this blueprint, mainly on its front part ( bonnet and front lights does not match up on side and front view ). Maybe this is the reason why the project is getting slower and slower. The blueprint itself is taken from SMcars.net.

Nik.

never trust blind on the blueprints, use atleast 50pics of the real car to get the right shape.

Smcars are a great resorce for blueprints, reference pics tips n tricks, etc, used to hang there back when I was more active in the 3D scene.

Right now I'm done about the exterior only. The project is paused for a short time because Core 2 Duo can't handle even a completed 20K car. Sorry for any inconvenience for people here. Now I am waiting for i5 :cookie:

Hey, an upgraded computer will result in a much better model. That's what I think anyway. :)

You using a Zmod 1.07b? Did you selected a device for 3d view? Direct3D T&L HAL?

Looking perfect! May I ask you why you're using ZModeler 1?

@GtaFanatik Thank you ! Sorry, forgot to reply. The reason why I'm using Z1 till now, :

Is because, as a newbie..I cant find any tutorials that is easy enough to understand. And then, a site called "etspe.ca" brings me to knowledge about Z1. Maybe I'll move to 3DS after I finish this. Also, compared to Z2, Z1 is more stable and easy-interface.. to me.

@Niko I'm into SA actually, but its OK if someone want to convert it to V.

Cool! Actually I think that Zmodeler 3 is the most stable, but also it's very different due to the new icon-based UI. It's hard, but at least better than ZM1/2, since I had "device is lost, restart Zmodeler" error everytime my laptop's screen went off. I've lost like 4 or 5 projects thanks to that.

Offtopic: Now that someone decides to make a good Pontiac Aztek, Turn 10 released it for Forza 6...

Don't rely too much on blueprint, it can mislead you. Always compare it to your reference photos.

This.

Not only in cars, but buildings if you choose to go that route and other 3D modelling in general. Blueprints are always good to have for a reference, but nothing is better than an actual physical photo, scale model, or even owning whatever you're fixing to make. Especially since blueprints are 2D and don't always show the alignments you'd see in person.

As what I can attest, blueprints can be a little finnicky hence why you should have more than good sense of judgement whenever you do a model or two. The shape of an object can and will be misleading at times, like with Sega's SG-1000 console for example. If you look at it in one angle it looks tall, but pan it to the side and you'd be tricked as it's actually flatter than it appears.

I think it accounts for why the Chrysler Airflow looked so disproportionate in L.A. Noire. It looked nothing like the Airflow I saw in photos.

@GtaFanatik So surprised Forza released a pack which includes an Aztek ! I'm not worry about that, because modelling is my hobby. "You make what you want/like to make"

Also, my Aztek is more customizable than its Forza counterpart :lol::lol:

@lpgunit true. Some side picture make a car look rough while another shoot from front quarter make it looks chubby.

@SkylineGTR hey ! Glad to see you, and thanks for the support :D

@Phil yea..the "chassis" part is not reunited in that picture so..there is still a tiny strip :)

So..I'm combining generic textures from HD GTA & Driver SF for misc parts like underbody, suspension, bolts, and front fender chassis part, etc etc

and all openable parts will be in 3D.. at least its better than "paper style" bonnet or boot :)

pic soon

Sounds good, Erwin.

I hope the 'Seam' has been largely eliminated as well.

little update :

Just finished rear compartement space and tailgate door.

I find it more interesting to do inside parts than exterior.

How about the rims ? which one is better ? The 3 spoke one or the 5 spoke ? I actually kinda confused about its trim levels.

I suggest you do the rims from the screenshot from GtaFanatik's post. They fit the car more than those tuner-style rims.
