I really hope there are some rally fans in here somewhere. Rallying is my favourite form of motorsport, just inching ahead of NASCAR and Formula 1. The 2014 season was fantastic. Sebastian Ogier unsurprisingly winning the title for the second season in a row, and also getting Volkswagen the manufacturer's title. Sadly Mikko Hirvonen retired after 12 years in the WRC too.

I really hope that this year Jari-Matti Latvala can get ahead of the pack and take the championship for himself after coming a close second in 2014. Hopefully Robert Kubica can do well this year too as he ended up finishing in a disappointing 16th last year. He actually just crashed and hit a tree after winning the first two stages of Rally Monte-Carlo today. :(

But yeah, anyone interested in this year's season? Monte-Carlo is on at the moment and I wish I could be there.

Ahh the WRC. This year could be interesting because Hyundai started to fly at the end of last year. Kubica is fast on tarmac, but 9/10 times he puts the poor Fiesta up a tree.

Yeah, I'm always disappointed to here when he gets knocked out of a stage. He keeps saying he doesn't have the right feel for the car but you can only use that excuse so many times haha.

And I'm also looking forward to the way Hyundai's season ends up, should be good to see how they can compete against the big boys now that they've finally got their game on

Hyundai are developing a new car for next year so i think they might start flying.

Lol Citroen, and Ogier has decided to Ogier and is winning, with Kubica flying along.

-- French privateer Chardonnet slipped off the outside of a bend and landed in the snow, knocked out of that stage.

-- Ogier sits in front of the pack. Latvala sits in second but made up 30 seconds in these stages.

-- Kubica flew through these few stages and also made up 30 seconds.

Ogier wins! http://www.wrc.com/en/wrc/news/january-2015/breaking-news/page/2127--12-12-.html

Latvala finishes in second, 1:14.3 in front of Mikkelsen.

And yeah, Meeke was the fastest of Day 4 so racked up so bonus points for his efforts, he had a sweet run through there, definitely be looking out for him a bit more in the coming rallies. Loeb was second fastest on Day 4 and Latvala third.

Look out for the Stages 13-15 highlights, I'll post them when WRC puts them up on YT.

Looking forward to Rally Sweden in a few weeks, 12th of February it begins.

-- Volkswagen has the first 1-2-3 podium lockout at Monte-Carlo since Citroen 12 years ago.

-- Latvala beats his target of a top 4 finish to claim second place.

Volkswagen for champions again ;)

Haha, yeah I'm going to be with you on that one. As of recent times they've been pretty unstoppable. Good to see such a strong manufacturer with drivers who are just as strong.

Definitely look forward to seeing how they go in Sweden next month.

Go Latvala!!!

"Toyota confirms WRC return in 2017"

http://www.wrc.com/en/wrc/news/january-2015/toyota-return/page/2142--12-12-.html

TOYOTA CONFIRMED TODAY THAT IT WILL RETURN TO THE FIA WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP WITH A YARIS WORLD RALLY CAR IN 2017.

Toyota Motor Corporation president Akio Toyoda ended months of speculation when he made the announcement during a press conference in Tokyo, at which the Yaris WRC made its public debut in a launch livery.

The programme will be handled by Toyota Motorsport (TMG) in Cologne, Germany, which has already completed a preliminary test programme in Europe with the Yaris WRC on asphalt and gravel.

Frenchman Eric Camilli, who drove a Ford Fiesta R5 in WRC 2 at Rallye Monte-Carlo, has been selected as the first member of Toyota’s junior driver development scheme.

The 27-year-old will carry out the test programme alongside former Subaru driver Stéphane Sarrazin, now a racer in Toyota’s FIA World Endurance Championship squad, and eight-time Finnish champion Sebastian Lindholm.

This should be good. I personally love the look of the car even if it is a bit unorthodox. It'll be cool to see the return of a manufacturer that was doing so well 20 years ago, and see if that legacy can live on into another era. :)
