How are you people broke? GTA$

Recommended Posts

Poor people. I really dont understand how some of you are so broke. Its so funny to see these low class bums blame everything but themselves for being poor. I see alot of you tin foil hat wearing, welfare applicants on the forum supporting this ridiculous conspiracy about GTA$ inflation for R* to sell shark cards. I play the game for fun, I dont grind or glitch and I have 3 mil. My problem is not with making money but theres nothing to buy -__- . What the hell are you guys spending your money on? I agree with a fellow forum member who stated somewhere that battling people in FR is a good way to lose money. Before I got into TDMs I was that KOS FR type of player, after every session of FR wars I remember being 20k less at most. Still nothing to cry about but thats a good chunk of money to lose. My playstyle now is I play contact missions for fun and shooting practice, racing for fun, and TDMs for fun... meaning until I get bored. Question for all the broke people and Shark Card conspirators.

1.What is your playstyle?

2.What do you spend your money on?

3.Why cant you get ahead?

OT: I'm poor IRL

1. FR (usually mind my own business) or missions
2. I spend most of my dough on upgrades/new rides

3. I only have 400k left but almost every car I own has 100% armor/100% perfomance upgrades

I play about an h or so every day and can usually make around 130k per "session". I ain't complaining bout sh*t

Agreed with you that free roam battles screw up with your wallet. I like to sometimes engage in such a ridiculous fight with ordinary people on FR as well btw (but that's not the case). Thing is that the missions are really not paying that well. I've already done literally ALL OF THEM and I can't even think about getting on them one more time. For me it's such a waste of time. I'd rather race of course. When in a job list full of good tracks and nice players it's almost sure that you can make some money.

I am poor because I am really bad at saving money. I got 50k and I think I still have it right now. I guess I will save a little more to buy a car that I will sell the same evening to buy another one.

Any ways to have fun is a good reason to spend money in this game anyways.

Whenever someone says they haven't paid their electricity bills on GTAO I giggle, I never had that issue

Misanthrope Z

i find that not having friends to do missions with can add to the problem

missions are not fun with randoms.

A lot of people over do it on cars. Like, most people.

this too. the cars are my main focus in the game

The inflation isn't a "ridiculous conspiracy"

Of course they are going to inflate prices a bit to encourage the purchase of Shark Cards. It's just business.

Personally, I have no problem making money Online, so I would never buy one. But that's just me. I had a good chuckle at you trying to make inflation sound like a myth though. So, thank you for that, OP.

Because I have a life

So I tend to only get maybe 20-30mins if Im lucky a day. Sometimes I may not get any spare time to get on.

Maybe you wouldnt be poor irl if you werent so 'rich' in GTAO fantasy land Lol

HEAR HEAR PEOPLE!

This is why everything is "overpriced". You aren't supposed to own everything in one week.

There should be a compromise between getting everything in a week (which no one is arguing, so nice strawman), and not having to grind 15 hours total to be able to buy one of the most useless, most nerfed, and least practical vehicle in the entire game (tank anyone?)

(And its useless from the effin beginning. Might as well remove it entirely from Online and give a full refund to whoever buy it. Nearly us less in SP, Completely useless in Online outside of some missions)

I never go below one million. Just in case there is something limited edition to buy. And so I don't feel poor .

It's easy to blow money on expensive cars. Buying them, upgrading them, paying insurance for them. I suspect that is why some people are poor. That and people who throw expensive sticky bombs around like confetti. Some Pegasus vehicles are pretty expensive too.

Personally I tend to play GTA to collect cars, I don't spend much time in free roam with randoms wasting ammo. Driving around the map and mucking about with friends is more my thing. I have 30 fully upgraded cars, I hate to think how much money I have invested into them.

Proximity bombs are 1K each

Insurance on a Zentorno 9K

Ignition bomb on a chrome Dubsta 5K+900 insurance each time

Listening to the ensuing rage...Priceless

Mentioning 1k Proximity bombs you made me remember something alot of you might not know

PROTIP TO SAVE YOU ALL MONEY:

There is a LifeInvader website IRL via the R* Social Club that everybody has access to as long as you have a social club account. If you find the Ammu-Nation Life Invader page you can 'stalk' (follow) Ammu-Nation and get an 8% discount on all weapons and armor at Ammu-Nation in game forever! Legit

Ive been getting the discount since LG and I forgot I was always getting a deal

There are also other in game companies you can stalk on the IRL websites and get discounts in game like Elitas Travel and the Tat shop

you're a bit of a c*nt aren't you. also 3mil is nothing, your bravado is ill desserved.

this has been discussed a thousand times, back when it may have been at least a little bit relevant. welcome to the forums.

I have 2 million myself. I probably spent 75% of my money on vehicles. I also stupidly bought every single clothes item at one point because my brother in-law was ticked that I had more money than him and he wanted me to get down to his level. So now I have a wardrobe full of useless crap I will never wear. Anyways. I don't see myself as broke but by no means can I afford the things that I want. Say if tomorrow 20 car garages became available I would not be able to buy them and fill them with the list of cars that I want and put upgrades on them. I can not afford the pegasus vehicles that I want right now either for general fun. Like starting up a car meet and fly everyone to the spot in a miljet and parachute down to the drop or getting some people in dump trucks and driving it up Mount Chiliad. Yes I blame myself for buying a tank at one point instead of the buzzard to help gain money on missions. I was still learning the ropes of gta online and was not a part of this forum. If I had come here earlier on there would have been some many tips that I could have learned to help myself out and I would probably be sitting at a much better position. Anyways. The amount of money in your bank account is relative. As long as you are happy with what you have and are able to do what you want in the game then you are set.

what is there left to own when you bought it on release date in 2013? without DLCs the opportunity to spend money fades away once you have all the cars you want. even then you get things like the flight school update and there is not a single interesting thing to buy. maybe a 50k flight suit but i personally dont own that.

i can see how newbies are skint but not people who have been playing for over a year
