Time of day on GTA: O startup

Is night the default time of day when starting an online session? I can't say I've ever noticed it before, which tell me it's something new, but since getting my PS4 before Christmas, I can't recall a time when it wasn't night when I start a session.

i dont think theres a default time setting. it all depends on the lobby you get put into. I've had GTA online sessions start at night, in the morning and afternoon. maybe its just a crazy coincidence that you keep logging into sessions at night.
